Round robin groups announced for Greif Masters

The Karlsruhe organizers of the Greif Masters are letting go of the double elimination format for this major European winter tourney. It's round robin in seeded groups, with a single elimination playoff round with just the top 8 teams. Spin the wheel over at http://greifmasters.com/ to see who's playing who.

LOBP v2 beta ... updates to the site

What's up everyone.

I finally found some time to upgrade www.leagueofbikepolo.com.  At first the plan was just to upgrade the code but keep the design and functionality, but i started to add some new tools and then i felt the layout didn't fit and one thing lead to another. So there are lots of new things going on, and a few design and functionality changes in the pipeline.

Changes

New design, though it's kinda half-baked at this point.

New homepage that's more friendly to the public. I'll be promoting some forum topics and tournament announcements to the homepage.

Forums

  • No longer on the homepage.
  • More focus on regional/club forums to help facilitate things like NA Hardcourt and regional projects like EHBPC, an Australian forum, etc.
  • Much better listing of recent threads.
  • "All topics" view for those who sit around refreshing all day. This view excludes off-topic stuff by default.
  • Ability to mark all posts as read.
  • Each comment displays author's groups etc.
  • Coming back soon, for better or worse: the x2 button.

EHBPC 2010 announcement: number of teams per city

We have received 93 pre-subsriptions from 30 cities for only 48 spots.

So...

  • Each of the thirty cities that pre-registered gets one team
  • Each city that requested 3 or more spots gets 2 spots.
  • Each city that registered 5 or more spots gets 3 spots.
  • The biggest polo community (and organizers of EHBPC 2009) gets 4 spots.

So here's the list of number of teams allowed to come to Ehbpc 2010 per city:

NA Hardcourt reps for 2010

The first elected group of regional reps has been elected to NA Hardcourt.  The 2010 agenda for NA Hardcourt was sketched out in November. The following people above will be reviewing that agenda, setting some goals, and organizing ourselves into committees and getting to work.

Cascadia etc Justin (Calgary Meg PDX (Portland) Lisa (East Van)

Southwest Joel (SF) Mike Tretter(PHX) Joker (LA)
