2013 Saint Louis Bike Polo Lock-In

Saturday, January 19, 2013 - Sunday, January 20, 2013
Host club:
St. Louis Bike Polo
Contact info:

This winter St. Louis Bike Polo will once again be hosting the greatest 24 hour bike polo party in the known universe. You are invited to join us in St. Louis for 24 hours of partying and polo, from noon on Saturday, January 19th until noon on Sunday the 20th.

We've thrown this party three times with memorable results. The people that seem to enjoy it the most are the ones that have no problem staying awake all night and can go with the flow. Our party/polo location only has one court, and with almost 80+ polo players, party goers should not expect to be on the court every other game. The wait time between games will be long since we do not allow mallet stacking or any other form of line jumping. In other words if you are trying play 40 games in 24 hours, you are going to be disappointed.

But if you are trying to party (and play some polo) you'll have a blast. We will provide some beer and food, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring a cooler full of whatever you want, especially if you have special dietary needs. We'll also provide a big ass pinata, some little motorbikes, shit tons of Mountain Dew, an hour of rollerskating and possibly some roller hockey. Donut shop runs featuring thrash metal soundtracks, spiritual awakenings, merit badges and broken bones are a possibility. For the most part we'll be playing it by ear.

So what do you say? Are you up for it?

If so, do this:

1. Keep an eye on STLBikePoloLockIn.blogspot.com for information about registration that will be posted in the next few days.
2. Encourage your friends to do the same!
3. Follow the registration instructions precisely.
4. Prepare yourself for the best party bike polo has to offer.

Before boston can commit to a team we want to know if this is BYOC. Also, is there even that good of quality shit in STL? I understand LObP is not a proper venue for such a discussion we started a thread Boston's forums so you can fill us in on some business.

I hope you guys (STL) didn't let these dudes in given they even tried to register. obviously they don't understand party when their trying to bring a team. goddamn eastsiders.

talk shit and burn bridges

We drink Mt. Dew over Coke.

Also, Boston accents are not welcome in STL.

So stoked!

Whats the local grog in St. Louis? I fairly took to Bourbon after a week in Kentucky having never had it prior to the biggest party week of 13 hours sleep that I ever attended.

"So this is how it ends"MACHINE

King Dewey- Budweiser mixed with Mt. Dew. It sounds gross, but don't knock it until you try it! There will be plenty at the Lock-in to fuel the 24 hour party.

Midwest is best!!

Ah we call that a shandy if it's 1/2 and 1/2 or a lager tops if ya just top yer pint off with the fizzy clear stuff.Either way you can drink them til you explode.Ice cold is the best. Add a dash of lime and you just turned into a lager lout.

"So this is how it ends"MACHINE

Yeah, pretty much. I usually use specifically lemonade in my shandy, but to each their own. Are you coming, Machine?!

Midwest is best!!

would this be a place to pawn off my new polo specialty drink dubbed POISON? it's pretty gross but it fucks you up.

considering that two years ago the STL crew pawned off a ton of beta test C45 Blast on us and i'm convinced it was poison ... you should have no problem getting rid of anything you can even remotely call alcoholic

keeping polo sinful.

A good number of you expressed interest in attending the 2013 Saint Louis Bike Polo Lock-In. We have compiled a list and sent confirmation emails to everyone that submitted an application.

If you received one of those application emails, congratulations! You are one step closer to partying for 24 consecutive hours on January 19, 2013.

In order to finalize your Lock-In application and secure your spot, you still need to send us money.

The easiest way for you to finalize your application is by sending us $35 through Paypal.

When you send your money, send it to: HAMCHOVY@hotmail.com

Also, when you send your money, be sure to do the following:

1. Include your name (the name you used when you submitted your email application).
2. Include the name of your polo club.
3. Send the money as a GIFT!

Please send your payment before next Wednesday (12/05). Failure to pay before the deadline may result in you losing your spot at the 2013 Saint Louis Bike Polo Lock-In.

Are there any spots open for this or we shit out of luck? Poose and myself are down.

you can take your fancy bike and get out! I have no idea, but am jealous of your bike, so im hatin

Get rad

The bike is dope, thanks for noticing! And it look like there are still spots open. BOOM.

On the way See ya there.

"So this is how it ends"MACHINE

should I just e-mail this to anchovie?

still claiming MKE?
for shame... =P

No. He won't care.

But that's the golden ticket. You're in for free. Don't bother sending the entrance fee. No one will hassle you at check-in.

Congrats on finding the only thing in the pinata really worth finding.

i disagree, the poster i found of the daytime soap opera heartthrob in fringe leather has greatly increased the joy of everybody pooping at the bike shop.

Question: The drive from Mobile (and other places) is ridiculously long and we were hoping to come in Friday evening and leave Monday morning. Is there housing available for Friday and Sunday nights or should I start looking for hotels?

more originality in the flyer next time guys?? mabry drew that for the fbm jump contest upstate. you guys are kewl!

I'm pretty sure we're not FWENDS!!!

yyyeahh? I was thinking the same thing, I mean at least credit where its due! Jeez

What a worthwhile thing to be uptight about, dudes.

I think they changed it, so you guys can go back to spray painting shit gold or whatever it is you do out there.

Wait, you're bitching because the rightful owner (Joey's girl) has a right to not having her art used without permission? Is there anything you won't bitch about this days?
Also, props to St. Louis for changing. This flyer seems more appropriate. :P

Is there anything you won't bitch about this days?

Ha nice.

(I'm was just joking around. It didn't come off right, sorry.)

why u mad tho?

this made me laugh.

We shit gold. We don't spray paint it.

In Kruse's defense, I too believed that the entire purpose of the internet was stealing shit.

Bike Polo Ronin

I forgot to pay/ I thought it was due by wednesday night/i'm broke. Can I just pay at the door? Also quote from Ben Simon from the Heat STroke last summer, something along the lines of " You've never been to the lock in!!!! Ok next year you can go no matter what!" hehehe : ]

arriving 735pm friday Leaving 1230pm Monday.... correct me if i'm wrong but that's more than 24hours . When you add in a 4 hour stop in milwaukee at the Nomad bar we nearly got 72 hours . Anyone else.......

"So this is how it ends"MACHINE

Seven from Louisville +1 from Lex will be there Friday evening to Monday as well. Get ready!

talk shit and burn bridges

Add seven or eight of us from lexington!! Woo woo Kentucky!!!!!

can't wait to see you my friend!

..and bring some long underwear ;)

He's not joking! It's St. Louis; the entire city is void of heating and air conditioning!

Don't plan on getting sleep Friday night... I fly in at 2p Friday, and it's going to be GET RIDICULOUS O'CLOCK.

Crab shots.

+ 1 Creamy from SF flying on the same flights as Machine.

Stoked for this. Can't wait to meet everyone next weekend.

are king dewey jello shots a really great idea or really bad idea......

Also whose ready for country karaoke at the bar next to the SKATIUM.

what if they made bus shaped jell-o shots??

-DFL folife

The only train ticket I could get has me getting into St. Louis at 12:20 on Saturday. If you hear me pounding let me in.

Worth it.

-DFL folife

Crab shots.

Ahhh I can't wait to party wit you miss!

-DFL folife

So much YES.

Crab shots.

Still looking for a team for this!!!

Try those Boston guys I know they were looking.

I don't think you're ready for this jelly.

Balls for balls!

Would crashing the 2013 Saint Louis Bike Polo Lock-In be considered in the spirit of the 2013 Saint Louis Bike Polo Lock-In?

Don't tease us, Dan.

Thank you Saint Louis! It was a fucking blast.

Worth it.

My brain is completely fried/overdosed on awesome. I've used up all the Ibuprofen I brought with me. My body hurts, and I'm so exhausted I can barely form complete sentences.

....and I can't wait 'til next year. HELL . YES. THAT WAS BEYOND EFFING AWESOME.

So, mega thanks, STL Polo and the Skatium!

Crab shots.

Thanks for the hospitality.

Dudes and dudettes! Such a good time! I mean, I've never ever slept at a lock-in, but this time, I really really didn't sleep... zero partying missed! Thank you again and again, StL friends. Best party of the year already and again! One question though... how did we forget foot down? Does that mean that we get to do it twice next year?

Also, CONGRATS TO NICO FOR MOST VICTORIOUS PARTIER! CONGRATS TO BOB FOR BEST BOOMBOX! I will sell my first born child for one just like it, some day.

thanx a billion St Louis for a phenomenal , weekend especially who ever matched creamy and myself with our perfect host Dave(and his amazing girl Andrea)They totally induldged our party spirit keeping us out til 530am b4 the lockin and til 4am the night after. Well rested now and ready for tuesday.
