what a fucking mess. I love this!

talk shit and burn bridges

Louisville, please bring the same gnar charisma u brought to Riverside x2.

riverside was a warm up for the season, we haven't even begun yet!

talk shit and burn bridges

this sounds great!

yea. riverside was rather tame. jimmy didn't even get naked and i can remember the whole weekend. we will be there with bells on. just need a place to pitch a tent...

keeping polo sinful.

only 10 teams?? don't you guys have at least 5 teams in decatur alone? throw in lafayette and bloomington and you're already at 30 people easy...

it's your thing and if that's what you want that's cool, i'm coming either way. just seems like there will be way more interest than available slots.

"Max participants may be raised depending on interest. Option to build new court or lights for night games."

I could imagine a lot of people not going ot this because it's too awesome... er, I mean not competitive enough.

talk shit and burn bridges

Zach, the 30 participants is Definatley not set in stone. Im working on multiple possible leads to at least double the amount of slots. We just wanted to get the ball rolling.

fuck yeah that sounds awesome.. just wanted to make sure there was room before I started inviting everyone and their brother..

Oh my, my brain hurts reading the description for this thing. If I go, I'm just going to dull my senses with beer and trust someone to point me towards my team.

Bike Polo Ronin

i like it!

Sounds like a blast.

Oh shit! This sounds awesome! Looks like to me you might be expecting a few from COMO!

Bike polo is the rollerblading of 2012

well shit, if como is going then i'm going. you should expect some chicago flavors.

With it being this ridiculously awesome, you should make its where the 3 winning players should have to compete in a shootout, or 10 min or first to 5 bottom bracket competition to determine the lone slayer..

Perhaps we will have them play "polo" in a manner similar to basketball's "horse". Call your trick shot in advance and if you make it then the others have to follow suit. Otherwise they earn a letter. If you spell "polo" you are out.

oh hell yes. either way I love the lone slayer idea. good thinking

ha...it's like the bike polo version of a medieval melee. Everyone fight until one is left standing...ready? GO!

Bike Polo Ronin

or we have them knife fight to determine the Highlander

shits gettin redonk and I love it!

This sounds like so much fun! F yeah, Decatur!!

It looks like we got ourselves a tournament boys and girls. brace yourselves for the shit show..

Is there a list of players who made it in? I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Midwest is best!!

Still looking for a team for this.

Seeing as I don't live on LOBP...I totally missed this. Oh well....

Bike Polo Ronin

Yeah, cant you guys take 8 more comopolo people?!

Bike polo is the rollerblading of 2012

yeah 30 is a crazy low number... that's only 10 teams!!

we were able to do 24 teams/1 court/1 day at riverside...

We certainly understand the desire to have more people participate in the tournament but with the resources we have available to us, we want to ensure those are attending have a great experience. This is our first tournament so we want to put on a good show. We have one court and our lighting capabilities are limited at best. Our court is certainly not the quality of Riverside, few are. We know people are traveling a good distance to play on our court and we appreciate the response we have received. By providing everyone with more games for their time and effort, we think we are making the best decision. Perhaps next year we will have another court and good lighting so we can not only host more people but give everyone plenty of opportunity to play.

Does a Riverside event need to be organized for everyone that did not make the cut?

i was gonna tell my club all about this at pickup tonight, but alas they won't even get the chance to sign up. if i'm the only one from bloomington that means i can't even go since i don't have a car....

This is the second small thing this year that I missed that there was even a sign up happening. The Lafayette thing and now this. I swear you kids just like have a smart phone glued to your eyeballs with LOBP always loaded or something.

Bike Polo Ronin

internetclickyraces claim another victim! i cannot wait for that shit to stop...

but yeah i work at a computer so that's why i'm always on here.

Pretty sure internet clicky races will always reign supreme for the just-for-fun tournaments.

It's not that hard to stay up to date!

COMOs first tournament was 43 teams... ;)

Bike Polo Ronin

I wouldn't call this a clicky race. It was 30 players max, not 30 teams, and yet it took two days to fill.

And those two days I didn't come on here because I was working overnights/ sleeping during the day and recovering from YOUR city, sir. To be honest, it's a tournament in August...I didn't think registration would be ANY time in May. My bad, but I am tired of missing stuff because I'm not an internet nerd. I need like text notifications for tournament sign ups or something.

Bike Polo Ronin

i'd be down with push notifications.

first we need someone to make a LoBP app!

i'll sell my spot for $100.

seriously though, i have the memory of a goldfish and i was able to register. y'all had like 48 hours. so poop in your mouths, i'll send you a postcard.

POOP IN YOUR MOUTH CHASM!!!!!! The moment I dont check lopb because of a super high from LA IV I miss the signups! TAKE MORE COMOPOLO PEOPLE!!!!

Bike polo is the rollerblading of 2012

Bike Polo Ronin

i always prefer the show up at the court, make up a team name and pay your fee scenario... fuck some registration.

talk shit and burn bridges

I like the way Jimmy thinks. I also like that approx. 1/3 of the players in this event are either from Lexington or Louisville. So the rest of y'all have a really good chance of ending up on a team with one or more of us hicks.

{}------- lexington -------{}

You hicks drink moonshine right???

drankin moonshine, huffin gas, smokin meth, poppin pills... fuck it

talk shit and burn bridges

We do. We also drink anything with ethanol in it.

{}------- lexington -------{}

get ready for the shit show.

keeping polo sinful.

Any way you dudes could make a list of participants?

"If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough."

9am central time

I'm not sure if you guys got my e-mail, but I unfortunately can't make it to this. So bummed!!! Have fun everyone!

Midwest is best!!

We're sorry you can't make it. Maybe next time.

can i have meg's spot?!

If you can make it in time, sure. Games start at 9.

Did anybody find a cowbell?

Yes, Brian found it and gave it to Tim A. I gave him what I was told was your hat as well.

Congratulations to Mags for winning the 217 Shuttle. Charlie placed 2nd and 3rd went to Travis Edwards (Decatur). A big thanks goes out to everyone who attended and we hope you had a good time.

An iPod was found at the mixer - message me with some details to claim.

Big thanks to Decatur, great times had by all! Great people, polo and beers! Can't wait to do it again!
