Courts
Description of courts:
I've talked to the convention center earlier this year, this was their response: "An Exhibit Hall would work best… the Halls open onto Houston and each has a roll-up door. Bikes could be delivered or ridden right into the room. The floor is concrete. The smallest hall is 30,000sf, Exhibit Hall A, which rents for $1500/day. We require liability insurance for all events…" The venue would cost $4,500 for 3 days, I'm not sure if that is a inhibiting cost, but it seems reasonable for a larger tournament with sponsorship donations. With this we would have 'real' bathrooms (no port-o-potties!), a kitchen area with bar and (of course) central heat and air… and did I mention it was indoors? Courts would need to be built.
General
Anticipated cost of registration:
$30-$40 per team
Website:
http://www.tulsabikepolo.com (if our town was selected, I would probably buy a different domain to promote it)
Promotion:
Internet, flyers, etc
How many polo players in your city? :
15 or so
Organizing team:
Tulsa
Housing:
We got it
Sponsors:
My work host www.tulsatough.com every year, I would probably have my boss help me find sponsors. Local bars and bike shops would provide sponsorships. I do graphic design and have done work for people that would be willing to donate wood to build courts, and local bike co-op would provide work stations, tools etc. A large scale tournament, which would be needed to justify the cost of the space, would of course attract other larger sponsors.
Food and drink:
Lots of friends in the food and drink industry - food, coffee, beer catering would be top-notch

Proposal type:
NAH tour tournament
Proposed dates:
This is a proposal for Ladies Army on the NA Tour. The dates we are suggesting are the first weekend in May: May 7 & 8. We obviously don't want it to coincide with any other regional tournament, so in that instance we can be flexible but there are some events happening in Austin that we'd like to avoid in March, April, and June.

Courts
Description of courts:
2 Courts 55' X 100' Plenty of spectator area, shading, picnic tables, etc. We have now hosted two tournaments at these courts. They are owned by the City Park and Rec department and there is a fee of $150 per/day for use. There are also lights that stay on until 10 on Sat, 8 on Sun, but if we ask they will keep them turned on until 10 on Sunday also. There is no shelter besides lots of tree cover, but we can provide little pop up tents for shelter if need be.
General
Anticipated cost of registration:
Probably $10 per person.
Website:
We can use the LOBP forum as well as a facebook page for Ladies Army that we will create shortly. As for registration, we would prefer to do that the Friday before.
Promotion:
You Betcha.
How many polo players in your city? :
At least 30 regulars
Organizing team:
Jasmine and Mo.
Housing:
We have plenty of free housing available from the polo and cycling community.
Sponsors:
Our Halloween Tournament prizes were from mostly local craftspeople and Bike Shops. We hope to utilize their involvement again. We don't have many monetary connections, but will be doing some fund raising. We also hope to target female owned businesses and/or craftswomen for sponsorship for this particular event (not necessarily local).
Food and drink:
There are a lot of local food carts that we hope to get on board for our next tournament to provide food at cost. We also hope to provide free food as well.
What else do you want to add? :
We've been told that this tournament should be in Austin and should be a part of the tour, even though not for points. We want the Lady polo community to continue to be supported and strengthened. So here is our proposal for a good fun time. I hope this can also count as our general proposal for Ladies Army III. xoxo - Mo Money and Jazz Hams

Courts
Description of courts:
There will be three courts with at least two having lights until 11pm. They are college size basketball courts with concrete surface (they wear through tires faster then when playing on tennis court surfaces). Washington State University is the owner of the courts and as a registered student organization our club has a great working relationship with WSU. We have been playing on the courts for two years and have hosted three tournaments at this location. Our fourth court will be used for a staging area including: mechanic tent, mallet repair/building table, bracket/info./registration tent, food vendor tents, and space for club tents. There will be enough shelter in case of downpour to cover all people and bikes. When it rains there are three spots on one of the courts where puddles form, we will have floor squeegees available to clear these spots in case of downpour. The other two courts drain perfectly in the rain.

Anticipated cost of registration:
Between $10-15/person
Website:
Website is in the works for preregistration and general information including sponsors of our event, FB event will be made, and LoBP tournament will be submitted.
Promotion:
Resources at both WSU and U of Idaho will be used to get the word out about our event. Local vendors and bike shops will hang posters, one of the bike shops will be involved with some of the organizational details of the event. We’ll be submitting an article to local and regional papers about a new urban sport coming to a small college town. Also, we will be contacting bike polo industry for sponsorship of event, to include links to our event from their websites.
How many polo players in your city? :
10-20
Organizing team:
P/M Hardcourt club, Paradise Creek Bicycle shop, WSU, and collaboration with various polo clubs with in our region.
Housing:
We have hosted up to 30 people for free and can probably do up to 50 by event. There is a local campground 5min bike ride from the courts that can sleep 20-30. WSU school of hotel and restaurant admin. runs a dorm style hotel about 500m from the courts. Local hotels will be off peak time of year and rates will be low. Preregistration will earn players the free housing until all spots are filled. We are looking into camping options in the parking lots close to the courts. It may also be an option to host people in the dorm rooms, but these two option are pending university approval. There is a possibility that we could host everyone for free.
Sponsors:
Local bike shop already on board, two local microbreweries interested, we will be contacting polo specific companies about possible swag, and WSU and U of Idaho are helping with marketing locally.
Food and drink:
We will have local food vendors at the courts.
What else do you want to add? :
We are looking forward to working with NAH in hosting this tournament and will be providing more information as it becomes available. Thank you!

Description of courts:
RCA park is owned and operated by the Bloomington Parks Dept. Configuration for polo would be one freestanding long and wide court on current basketball courts and two retrofitted tennis courts. (see attached photo) All courts are well lit with permanent lighting. There is not one but two shelters available in case of rain, plus our club has three 10x10 tents and the possibility of bringing in a large 20x40 tent. There is a very large field nearby for potential grass polo.

$50 per team. $15 per person + a $5 donation to NAH.

How many polo players in your city? :

Organizing team:
the key committee is... Zachary W. (courts) Travis D. (food) Kyle C. (housing) Evan K. (parties) Keith C. (insurance/transportation) Jordan F. (food x2) David D. (website)
Housing:
We can definitely house 1/3 of the teams, maybe up to 1/2 depending on how picky people are. People in this town are used to having random bands sleep on their couch, so there's a wide community that'll help out the polofolk. A good friend works at a hotel and will broker a discount on rooms. It's a college town so there are many hotel options; all options and pricing will be made clear beforehand.
Sponsors:
local coffeeshop local veg restaurant local grocer local food co-op local bikeshop local brewery Propositions have yet to be made (until everything is confirmed) but all these businesses are well known for supporting local cycling and events and we have personal connections at each place.
Food and drink:
Oh trust me if there's one thing we do well it's good fucking food! -fruit/veg/breads/coffee bar in the mornings. -hot meals for lunch and dinner (both days) with veg and vegan options. Covered pavilions on site. We already have potential themes for each meal that will make for a fun yet hearty food.
What else do you want to add? :
Centrally located, rich cycling history, and small town hospitality! Plus we have a burlesque crew that already said they'd perform at the Saturday night festivities ;)

Courts
Description of courts:
Portland Bike Polo proposes to host the tournament at Rose City Park, where we have hosted several successful tournaments in the past (Oregon Championships, West Side Invite, and PDX II, all in 2010). Portland Bike Polo has a positive relationship with the Parks Department, and would obtain permits for the tournament weekend. These permits allow public drinking, and provide bathroom, drinking water, and garbage service. The Rose City Park location is a double tennis court, surrounded by an approx. 15’ chain-link fence, and our tournament setup accommodates two polo courts, side-by-side. Portland Bike Polo will put up boards and radius corners around each court, ensuring smooth play. The courts are surrounded by large trees, and the courts themselves are open-air. The courts are well lit, and the lights remain on until approximately 23:00. Portland Bike Polo will provide regulation goals with nets for tournament play. In addition, there are BBQ facilities, water fountains, a large grassy field, playground equipment, plenty of viewing areas for spectators, and on-street parking close to the courts. The surrounding area is residential, but is a quick bike ride to convenience stores, food options, bike shops, public transportation...you name it.

General
Anticipated cost of registration:
$15 per person, which includes beer and one meal per day.
Website:
Our website is currently being developed; either it, or one developed specifically for this tournament, will be used as a central source of information. Registration will be handled by a Portland Bike Polo representative in accordance to NAH regulations.
Promotion:
Portland Bike Polo has extensive media contacts and their tournaments have been covered by local media sources in the past. Our standard media schedule is to send out a time-staggered press release and press kit.
How many polo players in your city? :
Portland is home to approximately 75 polo players.
Organizing team:
Portland Bike Polo
Housing:
The extended Portland Bike Polo network can accommodate about 60 bodies on couches, back yards, and floors, free of charge. This year we are pleased to announce a partnership with the Jupiter Hotel, where we will be able to provide a group rate (TBD) to tournament players and friends.
Sponsors:
In the past, Portland Bike Polo has been sponsored by Universal Cycles, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Black Star Bags, Ninkasi Brewery, Widmer Brothers Brewery, Vitamin Water, A Better Cycle, Portland Design Works, Coat Paint Shop, and many more.
Food and drink:
The event permit allows drinking and eating, but does not allow sales on Park property. We circumvent this by providing beer and food to players, which is reflected in the tournament fee. In addition, there is a convenience store within biking distance that we notify before hand to stock up on cheap beer.
