Bike Polo Spring Break in Kentucky

Saturday, March 12, 2011 - Sunday, March 13, 2011
Host club:
Lexington Bike Polo
Contact info:

Come on down or up to Lexington in March for some pickup and 2v2 action. We will split our courts down the middle to run four courts of insane 2v2 action.

UPDATE: Just so everyone knows, the main 2v2 event will be a hat tournament. Teams will be selected randomly and any obviously overpowered teams will be split up, a bit of polo socialism to ensure lively, balanced play. Depending on the time and number of people, there may be time to run a normal 2v2 tournament as well. Winners will be lavished with air brush spring break T-shirts.

Schedule is tentative but will probably be pickup on Saturday, tournament on Sunday. Come early if you want.
As a bonus, this event will coincide with St. Patrick's day and a likely tweed ride in town, so there will be lots of after polo shenanigans.

Shoot me an email if you're interested or have any questions.

mang oh mang...PCB '11 or polo? I think less bro's and more bourbon is in order!

Love the Poster!

I need a sugar momma so I can work less and play polo more!!

You'll see. Unless you drilled out your eyes because they were too heavy.

if only this was the next weekend

Boom. There.

when pigs fly.

Reservation for 2 at the Rozzi Polomansion please. Pat can take up temporary residence again too, yes.

...those days are over.

Word up. Pittsburgh's at my place. Make sure Shane is with you.

I'm in. You'll probably have at least 3 Clevelanders down there to win at everything. Especially hype.

If you can dream it, you can do it!

The only three things tight about Cleveland are:

1) Drew Carey
2) Bernie Kosar
3) Big Wermmmmmmm

Say I'm wrong?!

"All the little chicks with the crimson lips yell Cleveland Rocks, Cleveland Rocks.....She's livin' in sin with a safety pin she's goin' Cleveland rocks, Cleveland rocks, Cleveland rocks"

Midwest is best!!

i'm impressed that you could find 3

of course louisville will be there to heckle. and drink. and we might play polo.

keeping polo sinful.

what he said

I want to go to this

Coach Mike!!!!!!

Frazer stop being so hard on yourself your invited

i thought it was dumb nobody said woooooooooooooooo yet.
bike polo spring break!

I'm laying plans to get to this. if a2 showed, i don't know how many yet. How many people is this gonna be? and if we came would that be too many Lex?

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

and is there anybody out there who looking for a teammate? i don't suck.

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

Carpool...anyone in A2 have a van?

My dad does, full size ford that can fit 7 easily and enough room for that many bikes too with my trailer hitch 4 bike rack!

yes, lets carpool. GR Matt figure how many you gots, and we will do the same. I think we got Big Matt, Quinn, Rob, and myself. lets make this happen, plus the ride down would be that much more fun, and cheap when we split up gas.

edit: we will have access to my dad's minivan (yah so cool, i know). so we got options. GR Matt, email me with how many you think you've got. And i'm sure we can find you a place to put your car in the deuce if needed.

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

drive to columbus or dayton and i'll get you the rest of the way.

Cardinal, can i crash with you if the werm and i show?

Fuck yea! we will rage!

No Mada bring as many as you want I don't think it will get to out of hand. Not sure what to expect yet I am not the one hosting this one its Kyle.

let's all just camp at the courts....sheeeeeeeeeiiit.

...those days are over.

It's spring break, no ones' sleeping.

Who said anything about sleeping?

...those days are over.

haha, touché. can't wait!

ill be comin up thru bama on 65N pretty much whole way, hollar if u want a ride.
how are those rail trails from lex to ashland? i got a week to explore around the state

There is tons of good riding around here and the camping is amazing, the red river gorge is 20 min from LEX.

i want to play =( is there going to be wierd caps on shit with tihs tournement or can i just show up ??

"ok Mr. Schwinn fucking Armstrong!"

I don't think we are going to have to cap it, if there are too many people we should just do a 3's tourny?

3's hat tourney? sounds like a plan.

Anyone going from DC? if i come to this i'll be going Chicago -> Lexington -> DC.

Kev- When will you be in Chicago? If you need a place to stay, you can stay with Chris and I!

Midwest is best!!

right before lexington, for a week. thanks but i got a coach already!

edit: couch

someone pick me up from the border

if you can get to Windsor we might be able to pick you up, we are still sorting out who is going and how many cars there will be and if there will be any spare seats. But Windsor is not too far away.

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

Seriously...it sounds like the Ann Arbor bus is the way to do this one.

serious, any body that needs a ride from ann arbor to Lexington speak now so i can fold you into the ride list.

the party bus will be leaving a2 at some point on friday, and will return at an undertermined time, maybe never. I'll be driving my dad's bitchin ford mini van cause i gotta get back for class, i think.

i just looked up the the average temps for Lexington that week, avg.53 high sounds like heaven right now. my beard froze up good on my way to school today.

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

53f here feels like 63f

Grand Rapids is driving itself down Friday night, returning Monday night.

I am going.

hat tourney! Suspense.

...those days are over.

Hey anyone in Lex, got room to put up some Michigan polo people?

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

how many?

they are stacking up. right now the count for sure is 7, could be more. shit i'd sleep in somebody's yard if it came to that. we would all be grateful for any housing made available, i can cook, and will for my host, as long as i am not too drunk, which could happen.

edit: and we can bring a selection of good Michigan small batch beer.

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

Yasmada is a great cook, but if he's drunk then I guess I'll have to cook, but if i'm drunk, then I suggest we order out.
Yes, michigan microbrews should be sacrificed for the polo gods in lexington to avoid the ides of march. I'd hate to upset them, by
not drinking. Also, for housing, If someone will let us camp out, I'm sure we can find enough tents to fit everyone. I'm cool with that, or sleeping
on a floor. No problems here. just wanna play polo.

no all you wanna do is make your polo mallets. hanzo.

can't wait. expect at least 2-4 from Bloomington. love mixing it up! hat time!

Anybody have floor space for Sat nite? 2'x7' if I'm laying down, about 16"square if I gotta stand all night.

Welcome this man into your home. I can vouch that he didn't steal anything noticeable. But seriously, a good house guest.

You obviously don't inventory, but thanks for the stuff.

Gah, I don't exactly know my spring break plans, especially when I'm supposed to leave. I am going to Colorado for a rock climbing trip, but if we don't leave until Saturday night, I'll definitely come out and play pick up if I have a working polo bike.

I'm a big wad of bloody hot damnation

Have some room at my place and pretty close to the courts. 420 friendly and must be cool with dogs. Contact me if interested.

If you are committed to coming, please send me an email at KAHORD@GMAIL.com with your city and number of people so I can get an idea of attendance and try to coordinate housing.

-Kyle from Lexington

Who wants suds from the great beer state? Now taking requests...no need for payment in advance, free delivery to the Lexington polo courts. Growlers from Founders are also fair game. I think Class 1 fills are $12 (with jug), Class 2 $17 or something close to that.

hahah, yes.

i'd like a growler of their Kentucky Breakfast stout and Canadian Breakfast stout, if they're available. seems appropriate. We'll have us a breakfast tasting. if not just surprise me with any two.

looks like no dice.

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

Indiana brew is better than Michigan suds anyway!

Bring a growler of yr finest and we'll debate like serious men should...

Champagne Velvet!!!

if you bring anything from 3 floyds ill trade you in equivalent ounces of loko lemonade.

keeping polo sinful.

I feel ya Zachary. We'll have growlers to test. Will You?

michigan beer was just challenged.....

Great, now we have to stop at Bell's on the way down too.

the taps change faster than the website does but both of those are not likely to be on tap for quite a while yet

i've been practicing my spring break skills. y'all scunna b gel us.....

when pigs fly.

In case you out-of-towners are interested, and since it's looking like Saturday will be all pick-up, Lexington is also having its annual Tweed Ride from 2-4pm on Saturday. If you'd like to take a break from some polo and join in on another really fun bike event, just bring along some extra wool or tweed and jump right in with the ride.

We'll be meeting up around 2pm at The SideBar, which is across from the Fayette County Courthouse on Limestone, between Short and Barr Streets. Hit me up if you have any questions, because I'm one of the organizers helping out with the ride each year...

{}------- lexington -------{}

i don't think many polo bikes are the right style or era for this.....

Sweet fixie bro! But the rules state you must have at least one working brake, and why the fuck are you on grass?

can't wait for this weekend, only three days of class and a shift in the shop away from a great weekend of polo.

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

Back to Lex. Yes, yes, yes.

Let there be bourbon. It is good.

Hey does anybody know if the lights will be on at the courts on friday? and if so does anybody want to play pick up on friday?

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

Yes, lights will be on! Pick up definitely.

Also, if anyone isn't able to find indoor housing, I have a big backyard about a block from the courts for you to camp in. The lows are supposed to be just around freezing. Private message me if interested.

righteous, it has been over three months since we have played outside. can't wait, we should pull into town about 3ish on firday. the order of operations will go drop off bags --> pick up beer en route to courts --> play ridiculous amounts of polo. rinse and repeat.

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

you gonna have your joust, what size did you get

yes i will. i got a 59, still playing with stem/bar combos.

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

swwweeeeeeeeeeet! i wanna test ride that thing while we compare beers.

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

what?! I wanna compare beers. your favorite Zach, Mad Anthony Brew! I know how much you love that

weak shit my azz

beer-flavored water? no thank you :)

is there any more room for 6 out of towners to crash saturday night... we can sleep under tables, on tables, in garbage cans, etc. we aren't picky, and atleast half of us are house broken.

when pigs fly.

Keep your standards low, and morale high.

You'll see. Unless you drilled out your eyes because they were too heavy.

Unparalleled Fun. Thank you for cultivating the joy in polo. Felt good to smile again.

Lexington Bike Polo OG - Retired (Still show up and heckle though)

Big thanks to Will and Mike for putting us up, my co-pilots Charlie and Maija, my teammate Travis for carrying us to the podium, my euchre partners, new pals, old pals, and anyone who handed me a bottle of bourbon. I love Kentucky.

Many thanks for putting this on, it was a great way to start the year. Shorts and t-shirts in mid-march FTW. Tons of sun, wicked polo, awesome courts.

Kyle, thanks for having me and the chicago crew over. You didn't find my shin padsby chance?
Iwanyshyn, thanks for dealing me the left & right bower and three aces. Sunburnt and drunk euchre beats drunk Dice any day.
Matt, those growlers were fucking awesome, THANK YOU.
OH and Nick McLean, thanks for turning my shitty pass into one-timer goal that sealed victory Saturday.

man i almost managed to forget about that shot. i think that was the one that went behind my rear wheel. fun game tho.

Keep your standards low, and morale high.
