How do you find the handle bar grips? Get uncomfortable at all?

Fatty Lumpkin (named after Tom Bombodil's pony from the Lord of the Rings) is a heavy, awesome polo bike.
The frame is a Peugeot Orient Express with a U-brake.
The front disc wheel features my family crest: a polo mallet and a cog for me with a horseshoe for my Wife, the equestrian.
The thumb shifter is attached to the stem.
The saddle has it's own quick release.
Fatty Lumpkin has a morter launcher style mallet holder, and storage space for balls and a spare tube.

Hi.
Nice work and ideas.
But, why are the mallet holder not closed at the downside?
Or are the mallets too high in the air?
And whats inside the bottleholder?

Thanks,
The mallet holder is open on the bottom for 2 reasons, one is that the mallets would be too high and two is that I never thought of closing the bottom.
The bottle cage holds a tube where I keep balls, e-tape and a tire lever.
