My former seat post is in the downtube. There are 2 binder bolt clamps on top of the downtube, and two locating screws underneath the downtube.
Schwinn Prelude
This was my original polo bike, that was retired, because of a broken seat stay. I brought it back at the beginning of this year, when Montana brazed the seat stay back on. Then I eventually had him couple the bike so I can break it down for traveling. It rides exactly the same as it did before, and is probably stronger than it was before, as a result of the smaller rear triangle.
seat tube and top tube both clamp to the seat post? interesting design. how much weight is added?

I didn't realize there was a comment section. Hopefully both of your questions have been answered in Madison, Joe.

So it's like the Ritchey breakaway system, except with a stud in the downtube instead of the binder clamp? Nice. Really nice.
