Groups:

Nice one guys, I'll be driving down with a few melbourners. Will arrive either Friday evening or around midnight.

Looking forward to a day of Team tourneys and also some casual Bench/Pickup games with you guys n gals

Tom I can't wait to hang out with you again :D Get your drinking hat on! .. or .. perhaps, take it off for a few days then put it back on again when we arrive

Hey "That's what she said" - I call a rematch! Best two of three? :D

P.S. any luck with sponsorship from Coopers? :)

Awesome.
You're definitely on for the "that's what she said" v. "horses would die" grudge match, best 2/3 if you like, not that it will help you.

I don't understand this concept of taking my drinking hat off... especially when polo is involved.

We haven't approached anyone for sponsorship for this tournament, but we're working on coopers sponsorship for the nats. There will be prizes/trophies.

are you guys right for accommodation?

Hey hey, for the record, heres what I posted to the Melbourne group yesterday. I'll try to post more stuff to leagueofbikepolo from now on for more accessibility:

Adelaide has announced this afternoon that they will be hosting a proper team tournament on Saturday (in 2 weeks) and a throw in tourney on the Sunday.
(Previously it was normal pickup on the sat)
I think this is great news and I would strongly encourage anyone who previously decided not to go to see what you can do to get a team together (I realise it's short notice, but it would be great for Melbourne to represent)

I really really (really) liked that in Brisbane, the organisers acknowledged that there are both fun and serious bike polo players.
I think for the first time, both groups acknowledged that each other existed, rather than just continuing the divide between polo players who take it way too seriously and the "I'm just here to have fun" crowd.

The truth is that there is a little bit of both in all of us and we are all part of the same big bike polo community.

It's been stated right from the beginning that this Adelaide event is for new people, and thats great, but we're not new players. So I'm glad that this event will now cater to both the fun and the serious.

hypothesis: people who take bike too seriously might be more inclined to travel for polo than the fun crowd?
(and generally new players don't travel interstate to play polo :)

trying to get flights and leave (fri/mon) now...
