Australasian 2010-11 Tourney Planning and Scheduling.
As an offshoot from the thread discussing major tourneys when and where, i feel like most people are of the consensus that we just need to organize between ourselves when the tourneys are and give people a heads up.
The more advance warning and the more time between tournaments, the better.
Timing preferance should go towards Nationals and the rest can work around that?
What happened with nationals discussion. Are we on for Adelaide in May?
Gold Coast has expressed interest in hosting a tourney and Sydney is shooting for Feb 5/6 for a bench tourney for my homecoming/juliens farewell.
If cities want to start thinking about when and what they want to host, post below and we can start putting a calendar together. I can update the top of this thread as we go, even if its just a tentative date, or a season or a month.
So far the info i have is
Nov 28 - Adelaide - Throw in tourney
Dec - Sydney
Sometime early in the year - Gold Coast
Feb 5/6 - Sydney - Bench Tournament
March (late) - Brisbane - Throw up 2
Autumn - Melbourne - Melb Autumn Tournament
May - Adelaide - Nationals (?????)
August 6- Christchurch, NZ!
Sept/Oct - Worlds - TBD, North America

Sydney is also having a tournament in December. Julien is organising - dates to be advised ASAP.
Yes it was agreed at the Nationals that Adelaide is May.

Australia Day Bench was held last year.
Also had a 2 on 2 last year which I think we dont do enough of.
Seems like the worlds will be in Sept / Oct if this thread on the NAH schedule is a reliable source:

So that should be added into the "mix" for our Australasian schedule.
2v2 "fun" tourney in the works for next month. Sorry interstaters, just thought of it and want to get something down before it gets too hot.
*edit* this is probs going to go down on the 21st of november.
Christchurch will likely host the Winter Whack again in late July or early August 2011...will look at school holiday clashes and consider the likley date of the Worlds too. Is that "tentative" enough?
