hey charleston, i met some of you when you hosted bike! bike! southeast, that conference was great (and with a polo q&a and discussion!) anyway tally's hosting a tournament soon: leagueofbikepolo.com/hungry-hungry-hippolo-ii. we still have a few spots open, would love to see you come down for it!

That sounds pretty awesome, I'll ask around and see if we can get a crew together.

Polo season is back in Charleston. Sundays at 8PM in the Visitor's Center bus shed. Spare bikes & mallets if you need! The bus shed is between Ann and John streets, you can't miss it.

What nights do you guys play? Me and my bf will be in town Nov. 6th-10th and wanted to check out the competition. Chances are we wont be bringing our bikes. Kind of expensive to carry on flights.

When do you all play usually, my girlfriend and I both play and will probably have our bikes with us. we should be down there mid july.

I doubt we could have it at the Bus Shed, also, it runs all day, thus the play would be limited to night games, however, I am thinking of other venues that may allow us to rent for cheap as a "Bike Friendly" thing to do, since that always makes businesses look good. Namely, I was thinking of the Navy Yard. If we could rent out one of the warehouses, as they do for KK, we would have a kick ass place to play, that is covered, and the floors wouldnt get fucked by pedal bites and the like, the only problem I can forsee is price, but that can be worked out, hopefully.
In this scenerio, we could run multiple courts, and would need alot of interest.
I say start planning now and do it in Late July or Early August.

I honestly don't think price would be that much of an issue if we had enough interest in people playing.. we could ask for a dollar amount donation from each squad that attends.. to make the rent..

Idea for our back court problem:

in this photo of cherri, there is an orange netting, would it be possible for us to use somewhat of the same thing? it's easily portable and doesn't weigh much.. I think it would work.

EDIT: also do you think it is possible for us to possibly hold a similar tournament here in Charleston as did Savannah? if we can block off and make multiple courts in the bus shed? just a thought.
