East Van Bike Polo

Hey east van, hope all is well!

Our mayor recently approved a budget increase for grants. This is to be used to restore our dying community centres. This could mean that if WPG bike polo acts fast and together with a community centre, we could get a proper court to play on. Instead of the gritty sandpaper-esque pavement we play on now. At the NA's I was speaking with one of you east vaners, he said that you would gladly share your court plans to help another community get a court happening. I was wondering if you had any advice before we take this on, and if you wouldn't mind sharing the court plans?

If you haven't heard yet, I will be stepping down as Cascadia Regional Rep, and Board member. My plan is to use the month of January to find my replacement. Please start thinking about this role and how it will affect you and your city now. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Timeline:
-January 1st to midnight Jan 7th to put in your name as a Candidate. Please post your name, and short campaign speech IN THE THREAD ON THE CASCADIA PAGE.
-January 8th to midnight Jan 22nd City Reps talk to your cities and VOTE by emailing me your choice (this is only for one spot)
*** CITY REP VOTES MUST BE TURNED IN BY 1/22/2/12 TO COUNT***
-Shannon and Cecily will speak with the new Regional Rep and decide among the 3 of them who will be the new Cascadia Board member.

Please spread the word to anyone you think needs to know about this, I want this turnover to be smooth and soon before the season get to heavily upon us.

Hey guys ! It's Dany from Manhattan, Ks. I had a blast hanging out and playing polo with you guys this summer. I'm busting my arse here to get polo going again but it sure isn't easy. Congrats for the title and hopefully there'll be another conference there soon so that I can come play again !

Anyone have an extra bike rack that some Toronto folks can steal for Seattle? We're flying to Van and renting a car, leaving for Seattle Thursday, back Monday.

I'm looking to get from Van to Calgary sometime before the NA's, anyone have a spot in a car? I wouldn't mind splitting a rental, but it looks like everything is booked up because of the long weekend before. I will chip for gas/snacks/fireworks/etc.

so who's got some work for me in august/september? or who has a friend of a friend who does? I can send a resume upon request. Some of my strengths are painting (interiors, exteriors, portraits), roofing, construction work, prep cooking, babysitting, screen printing, waitressing, communicating well with strangers, gardening, landscaping, and i'm really fun to play polo with on a Sunday afternoon. lmk. thanks! oh and maija might be looking too but she's legal and she has more skills than i.
