We have received 93 pre-subsriptions from 30 cities for only 48 spots.

So...

  • Each of the thirty cities that pre-registered gets one team
  • Each city that requested 3 or more spots gets 2 spots.
  • Each city that registered 5 or more spots gets 3 spots.
  • The biggest polo community (and organizers of EHBPC 2009) gets 4 spots.

So here's the list of number of teams allowed to come to Ehbpc 2010 per city:

Groups:

Hi, this is Marco from Roma BP.
It sounds strange to be represented just by one team in front of others major European capitals. We are a little bit disappointed by that, but will be proud to meet all other teams. Hope the higher level you get the more teams you can pre-register for 2011 championship. As for Fifa or other sport federetions.
I suppose, Polo is becoming so popular that some kind of selection (qualify) soon will be necessary.
Well by now let's have fun and enjoy the game.

We have done our selection not on the city size, just on pre-subscribe teams by city... So If Roma tell us 2 teams, we can give 1... that's it.

I know that's seems quite unfaire for everybody, but when you have 93 teams for 48 slots, at least 50% of teams gonna be disspointed.

I am processing these facts in another way.

England 9 teams
France 8 teams
Germany 11 teams
Italy 5 teams
Swiss 6 teams
Holland 3 teams

Spain 2?

Our first internal tornament last year (may) in Barcelona was with 7 teams. Last week internal tournament (raining, the people doesn't play polo when rains in Bcn) 5 teams.

I agree with the idea of having a lot of cities, but...2 teams, we were 2 teams last EHBPC, and the comunity is really much bigger than 2 teams.

El Vaquilla hubiese jugado Bike Polo.

For us it was really painfull to making this selection.
I know that if you are looking in a countriest way this selection, Spain get a lil' number of allowed teams . But we built our selection city by city, not by countries way.

For example, Barcelona want to send 4 teams, so they get 2. that's a 50% ratio, like in paris. London get 4 teams on 15, that's an 25% ratio. So Barcelona isn't treated unfairly.

For now, each city is disappointed, everyone want to send us all their teams, but we simply can't satisfy everybody....

Sorry.

Dates?

Yes. Do you have any dates yet. It's really important to know that, because we all have to plan our summer-holidays and stuff.

Thanks!

Edit:
Official dates:
16-17-18 july.
Official days for playing: 17-18.

16 17 18 u mean?

16 will be a tourney day or just inscriptions and meeting?

inscription, meeting, food, drinks...
maybe play, but not officialy

thx, can I book flight now?

I think so.

Hey what happens!?!?

Spain 2 teams only? As you may Barcelona only have two teams and Holland 3 teams or France 8 teams!!!!
This tournament is being TOO big and out of control....

we don't choose teams by country but by city...(only for holland who have presented the country like a city, with only one ambassador...)
Absolutely nothing against Barcelona or spain, everybody has to be disapointed because we can handle 93 teams... so.

This is a post from me on LFGSS forum:
i think that selection process is clearly explain here:
http://ehbpc2010.wordpress.com/
1) Each of the thirty cities that pre-registered gets one team
2) Each city that requested 3 or more spots gets 2 spots.
3) Each city that registered 5 or more spots gets 3 spots.
4) The biggest polo community (and organizers of EHBPC 2009) gets 4 spots.

We have made things like that
1) every city / one place : 48 (slots) - 30 (cities) = 18 slots left
2)3 or more / one place more: 30- 18 = 12 slots left
3)5 or more/ one place more: 12 - 11 = 1 slot left
4) london = one more.

Hi uolmo!
Did we have the possibility to register our city (Stuttgart-Germany), or it's too late? Or did you have a kind of "waiting list" of teams to pick up just in case someone would give up?
