Do you think that certain events entail specific accommodations?

In other words, what is your minimum expectation when you go out of town for a polo tournament/pick-up? How many courts? How big? What type (repurposed tennis courts, a parking garage, a temporary court made of jersey barriers, a roller hockey rink with boards)? Of course each type of get together has its own event-specific needs, so give detail. I find it impossible to imagine that none of these things matter in the least when planning an event or a road trip.
