We will be selling the boards and nets from NAHBPC

So, not to get to far ahead here but i wanted to let clubs know that we are going to be investing a substantial amount of time and money into creating a really high quality barrier for polo as well as nets. The thing is that our current club isn't going to need all 8 sets of courts when we are finished hosting this tournament. So, i want to let people know that we will be selling some of the barriers when this is all done and said. I'm putting this out there so that people can plan when they come up here.

Cost: Not sure yet, but they will be high quality.

they will aslo break down easily so that you can load them in a van or pick up truck. If you want boards and are not coming we might be able to work something out so that we can ship them freight to you.

We will aslo be selling some of our sets of nets. They most likely will look a lot like the ones being discussed in the forum right now.

mke may be interested in at least some nets

Something to consider: building the boards is probably extremely easy for anyone with rudimentary woodworking skills and making the goals will be easy for amateur welders, so the prices should definitely be less than it would be to buy the materials new.

Pro-friendly bike polo!

If you know Jonny, he isnt' the person who would do this just to make money. I'm SURE he's not going to charge outrageous prices.

Pete why would you ever use metal for nets in polo when the are so many plastic alternatives that are so much less potentially injuring.

Yo Dawg I heard you like redundancies so we got a PIN number for your PIN

I don't understand how steel goals welded without sharp edges would be any more dangerous than plastic. A bit heavier (which is good, you don't want goals to move), more rigid (not really dangerous unless there are sharp edges, which there shouldn't be), and more shatterproof (safer).

What makes you think it's so much more dangerous? I think if you're worried about how dangerous it would be to fall on the goals, maybe you should worry more about not falling on the goals than what the goals are made of.

okay, first of all. Are you familiar with steel vs. HDPE or another other hard plastic? STEEL tends to be A LOT heavier and HARDER than HDPE plastic. Having steel piping will result in extremely heavy goals, which isn't necessary or needed.

I don't think Tim is looking at this and saying, "hmm which would i like to ram my bike into?" Having steel piping built goals will not deter people from being aggressive, and building them as such wouldn't be advisable because we all know there is a chance of it happening and lets say if YOU decide to accidentally crash into a goal, would you want to crash into a steel or plastic goal? yep.

Thank you Mr Hewitt, that is spot on to what i was getting at. Just less chance of injury all around, and if hdpe was used I see no chance of them ever shattering, and being plenty heavy.

Assuming they're collapsable/deconstructable (at least for the ride home) I would be very interested in set of NAH-approved goals.
