Mylecs are notorious for their bad quality. They are low in weight which makes them too bouncy and uncontrollable. And they break all the time. But they are cheap. Give and take.
orange mylec balls breaking
we bought a bunch of mylec balls for a tournament and every orange ball broke within minutes. anyone else having problem with these balls? here in the south we need warm/hot weather balls mostly. the franklins seem to last a lot longer. the newer canadian balls seem to hold up ok, but we have broken a few of them.
what are you using?
It's probably just too cold for orange Mylec. Use the appropriate ball for the temperature and you won't have these problems.
We are playing a lot with the orange mylecs in Sydney at the moment in 20/25 degree C weather and they do pretty well. Haven't broken any yet. I'm guessing its still just too cold for em way up North.
The Canadian ones I sell hold up pretty well (in winter), but really they are meant for hot temperatures. I can get soft ones for cold temps, just never bothered before, cause in the winter we can play with the super cheap Canadian Tire balls, and they're fine if its cold, but in the summer when it's hot out and they get soft and sticky and you have to keep them on ice etc....that is when the D-Gel balls shine....try em out in the summer, Even without icing them they stay better than any other ball I've found in the summer.
In Seattle we tend to use Franklin orange for most times of the year. Red in summer and multi color in winter. I brough mylec balls with me from portland when I moved here in august and they all shattered in the first day of use. I would stick to franklin if you can get them, though I haven't tried out the canadian balls that justing is selling.
