Anything but u-brakes.
I tried to mount an NOS set of Suntour rollercams on my old Bruiser and they did not fit without a custom and very narrow center yoke thing that I decided wasn't worth the hassle to try to create.

I know this is talked about a lot, trying to make the decision of whether to get v bosses brazed or to go with u-brakes on the new bike. What are people's thoughts, experiences, on u brakes for polo.
I've seen a lot more v-brakes lately, but could I also just get higher quality u-brakes?
The cost of a good set is still lower then brazing.
P.S.
Roller Cam???

i had a u-brake on my bmx. it was shit and they aren't nearly as easy to get as a decent v-brake.
just get something like an avid single digit 7, they are awesome. also get the mounts put on the inside of the frame (so the brake is more protected).
alternatively, just get a disc.
V-Brakes need less attention once you've gotten them set up. Or get disk brakes.
i got a cross fork last year just for the v brake mounts and rock fb only. super manageable, easy to adjust and the most stopping power ive ever had.

Going with v brakes, although now I'm remember some bmx tricks for u-brakes, sanding off the paint if I recall
+1 for V brakes, easy to adjust, cheap to replace
I had u-brakes on my bruiser for a long time before I got v-brake mounts brazed on. The u-brakes are a lot harder to adjust, but way beefier and less prone to getting out of center because the tensioning system is more reliable. However, the major downside is that they just plain don't stop as well. I had an Odyessy trigger lever and front brake and I had to pull very hard (even after the pad made contact with the rim) to stop as fast as I wanted to. I tried different pads and different ways of running the housing and it was still way more difficult than my super cheap v-brakes are today. I'd say it's worth it to braze on the mounts because even a really cheap lever and v-brake will have more stopping power than even a decently nice u-brake.
It's all about that mechanical advantage, baby.
