dude I think you'd break those things. Im sure they're super light, I know I would break the shit out of those arms after like a month
crupi rhythm expert bmx crankset
i've been looking for an external bottom bracket crankset that is 110bcd & 160mm length. has anyone tried the rhythm expert cranks? the only thing that worries me is their description:
Rider weight limit for these cranks is 150lbs (although we have tested them with a rider at 165lbs with no problems).
i know they are made for jr bmx riders, but i'm right around 165lbs and am wondering if i could make it work. any experience/suggestions?

yea, just to drive it home for you- save the weight weenie stuff for racing. I doubt the arms would break, it would most likely be the spider. Figure you're going to put a low polo gear on- low gear = high torque. Bad combo for a lightweight item.
the site says thos crupi's are 26 oz with bottom bracket. that's 745 grams. You could get some White industries ENO cranks for about the same price/weight and have a high bling setup with no weight restrictions. I and another poloista here in SF have these cranks and they're definitely up for abuse.
whoa that white industries chainring/bashguard looks sick!
the only problem is that they don't make lengths below 170 and i had to get 160 because of pedal strike on my current setup. i might be able to swing 165, but no more.

carve. smash. eat shit.
Is that true? Does a lower ratio equate to higher torque at the chainring, or is it just the rear wheel? Seems like a higher ratio would be worse for the spider.
I agree with not using lightweight kids cranks though.
or profile cranks for that matter

these come in 160mm and 165mm about 120 bucks for the bmx style...

50 dollars for the regular ass crank style.. also in 160mm and 165mm
more options for you. don't push your luck with some jr shit, get the real ass shit for grown ass men.

maybe the manufacturer is just being lawsuit cautious but who knows...
personally i would not buy something rated for less than my weight, especially because it may imply they are saving weight and sacrificing strength.
