ya an inch of frozen rain everywhere, we salted the court down at 11pm the night before. i went to check on the court at 2am and wiped hard as i turned on to an icy side-street, spraining my ankle, an injury that lasted another 4 months. the court was actually ok, thanks to the radiant heat of the water reservoir underground--at least until it started sleating and accumulating at 11am.
this was February 2008, the last gasp for the midwest "big ball" hardcourt game.

This photo was taken in Rifle, CO at the local fair. They had a jalapenos eating contest. I ate 8 very large and very raw jalapenos in less than 5 minutes and came out with a 2008 hot lips champ trophy. After that I proceeded to get intoxicated with the locals.
It was funny they were cheering go Wisconsin! It was myself and 2 other chaps who were the only out of towners.
