Lookin for a new whip...

hey all polo people, i need a new bike and don't want to pay(much) for one. mountain bike frame, horizontal dropouts, 15-17"

if there's anything out there you know of, let me know. not really picky, steel would be great, i can ship it or come pick it up maybe....i'm looking for one locally but i'm strapped for the time to do so lately

appreciated,
coyote

Xian brought a sweet 26" steel frame/fork out to dolores a week or two ago. About your size aaball. I'll see if he still has it. - ubrake on the chain stays -

Are you or forrest playing on Thursdays? I'll be in seattle on the 17th.

u brake? uh, maybe send pictures, are those things even powerful enough?

feck yea we play on thursdays. thursdays are good, have to stay until the bitter end on thursdays, lights suck but they don't go out.

by the way, check the weather...it is pretty dang cold here

U-brakes definitely do the job. That's what MKE BIke Co. puts on their Bruiser frame, standard.

I don't ride with one, but I've ridden JoeMKE's and you stop, for sure. Maybe ask Joe about it.

Those voodoo Bokors look pretty. fairly steep head tube too @ 71deg. Comes with sliders.

I'm usually into steel in general but I wonder how necessary it is for a polo bike. aluminum is lighter & stiffer which would translate into a responsive ride if you put a non-adjusted rigid fork on it. It's not like you need it to be steel for soaking up trail chatter etc.

As soon as Casey destroys my bridgestone I'm seriously considering one of these.

$319 seems do-able, prolly get it cheaper if you harass some LBS monkey to pro-deal it for you.

i have my old polo bike, a norco alpine, same bike that rory rides on. you can see it this weekend if you want to. it will not be expensive, but it's a pretty good bike. little long in the top tube for me, that's all.

victoria bike polo

19 1/2 center to center seat tube
22 1/2 center to center top tube (not sloped, I think)
about 32" minimum taint height with medium sized tires.
1" threaded steerer
27.2mm post.
enough horizontal drop to go without a tensioner.

Let me know if I can bring up to seattle for you. Else - I'll build it for my brother.
