This is going to come down to goaltending. Miller is a wall, there is no doubt about it. Canada has to get traffic in front of the net, screen the goalie and get some tips in from the point. Point blank you won't score on this goalie. At the other end Bobby Lou has got to be the cat like reflex goalie that he has shown to be time and time again. This guy has got to stand on his head and keep his team in it. Go Canada!!
so i've been reading all of the expert opinion articles and they all agree with you, and i sort of don't get it. these teams are not the same on offence, or defence and it's supposed to come down to a goalie battle? yes miller is awesome, but isn't luongo supposed to be okay too? somehow i'm thinking that american speed or canadian size or depth or either team's defence is going to be a more critical factor. but you are always right ange, so i don't know what i am thinking here.
Shit. The game is happening during Polo O'Clock. I guess I'll just not have to watch the replays afterwards because NBC sucks ass and won't let me see any videos on my linux machine.

Canada coming off a hard fought 3-2 win. USA coming off a 6-1 breeze of a game.
How do you feel after a 4-5 game point win? Not damn near as good as you feel after a 5-0. USA has their spirits high and they are more confident than ever. I think they have the game sealed.
maybe usa feels too good? overconfident? maybe they haven't had a real challenge yet? i know for sure from tournaments that winning 5-0 doesn't do anything for my game.

If Canada can sustain the offensive pressure and the constant forechecking barrage that they put on the Russians they have a good chance to win gold. Defence is going to key as well. They're going to have to shorten the bench a bit, sit Pronger and Diedermyer more giving ice time to the younger, faster and stronger boys.
What Canada has against them is the pressure to win. If Loungo falters the team is more apt to be gripping their sticks a little tighter and making mistakes. In turn taking the crowd out of it a bit and making it even harder. Look for this to be a career defining moment for your teams goaltender Pieter.
