Exercises, stretches and routines

From time to time I will get a slight pain in my wrist after polo.

I'm was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for preventative exercises or stretches that could help strengthen "polo muscles".

Are those hand squeeze things good or bad? I thought I read once they don't really do much.

Would a few lightweight dumbells help strengthen the muscles that operate your hand?

Any physical therapists on this board?

Play more polo

"So this is how it ends"MACHINE

you only need to use your body weight. do burpees. work out like you're in prison. that's what i do.

any exercise that's good enough to keep you from getting shived / raped in the pen is good enough for me on the outside.

seriously, you don't need to spend a single dime to get shredded, body weight is all you need.

i'm not a big timer so usually i just stretch my wrist while holding my mallet (oh yeah)

I have been following a routine I found for, tennis elbow, since it has been my wrist and elbow that gets sore after playing to or more hours. Sorry I haven't figured out how to paste the link from the phone yet...I'll post that later. What is helping me most is using a rubber band around the fingers and flexing open...a lot.

Do a search for exercises that help with tendinitis in the forearms, elbows and wrists. Usually involves stretching those muscles and strengthening with light weights (you can even use soup cans or better yet, full beer cans). I've had polo-related bouts of pain in both my wrists and forearms, and a week or so of regular rehab with simple at-home techniques cleared it up.

You may want to consider getting some of those ergon grips for your polo bike. I've been using them for about six months now - not only do they help take some of the strain off your hands and wrists, you also get a better, more solid feel to the handling of your bars.

powerball helps strenghten wrist and forearm. Helped me, I also felt pain in the wrist, but powerball helped me, powerball ftw.

It is also maybe from using a heavy mallet?

Thanks for the responses.

scratch offs also help with wrist and forearm. they could also result in lots of money in which case i get 60%

60% I thought you were hustling. Pimps take 100%

i bench press my 25 pound cat it helps

Unless you guys are blowing each other under water, "gay" isn't the appropriate term to describe this. Right, Bridges?

i just had a hand injury from getting whacked on the knuckle with a mallet. wasn't able to solidly grip or fully extend my finger for a couple weeks. just got this to help strengthen my fingers:
