ah someone beat me to it, but at least there is a general consensus on something
Above the influence ad
Has anyone else seen this above the influence video?
personally, one of the aspects that drew me to bike polo was the lax views toward drinking and doping, and i dont like the idea of it being affiliated with the above the influence campaign. what do you guys/gals think, thoughts, comments, concerns.
Oh My Fecking Messman , that is the funniest thing I have seen since Saturday when we blew up a Washing Machine into a billion pieces with a firing squad of 9 and 4 lbs of explosives. IF YOU AIN"T STRAIGHT EDGE NOW YOU NEVER WERE.

Question : How does one get Unwasted on the same weekend as you got wasted?

Brought to you by the 'National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign'. Funded by those wonderful people who are "winning" the war on drugs, the "Office of National Drug Control Policy"
From the wiki:
In February 2005, a research company hired by the office and the National Institute on Drug Abuse reported that the government's ad campaign aimed at dissuading teens from using marijuana, a campaign that cost $1.4 billion between 1998 and 2006, did not work: "greater exposure to the campaign was associated with weaker anti-drug norms and increases in the perceptions that others use marijuana." The research company was paid $42.7 million for the five-year study. After the February 2005 report was received, the office continued the ad campaign, spending $220 million on the anti-marijuana ads in fiscal years 2005 and 2006.
Research points to the fact that it isn't working so let's spend another couple hundred million bucks on it! Because we're WINNING!
personally, one of the aspects that drew me to bike polo was ...
... that if people judge at all then it's usually on bike and mallet skills, athleticism. sportsmanship/dickmanship etc.
I don't really get the beef here. But that's OK. I think it's a nice effort to follow aguila's call for more trash talk. By the way, that rumor about Rory and doping is totally unfounded.

Who Tha fuck plays polo on the dirt
those are both NY players so the NY thing is true.
WHO CARES....
this doesn't effect our community at all. let them advocate not doing drugs or drinking themselves.
i think it's good that anyone that wants to get behind showing KIDS not to drink and do drugs does so.
good job boys!

LOL. The funny part being the unintended consequences. 'Getting behind' a program aimed at reducing kids usage where the program actually does the opposite is just delicious irony. The fact that it has cost you, me and the rest of US tax payers hundreds of millions of dollars makes it a little less funny.
Personally don't drink, smoke, or do drugs and have no issues with this at all. When a nations spending billions of dollars killing people and backing Rx drug companies (and non-Rx ones as well im sure)......any kind of ads or campaign to make some kind of effort to influence kids in a positive way has my vote. If we have young kids want to get off the streets and play polo we encourage them, if your drinking and doing drugs around them and offering them those things at polo then your a douche.
Polo at Denia Park in Denton Tx Sundays and Thursdays 5pm-Dark
i don't think anyone is advocating offering drugs to kids at polo.
I think the concern most of us have is with the blatant hypocrisy of a government that subsidizes prescription drugs and allows alcohol while "waging war" against natural drugs like marijuana. they spent taxpayer money and used polo to push a campaign that distracts from the real issues.
personally i would also argue that knowledge and responsible use is a better approach than abstinence only. drugs (legal and illegal) are part of human society, to ignore that is more dangerous than to approach it honestly. consider how evangelical christians approach sex.
they shot this in ottawa

It is a pretty horrifying development. As most have agreed on the initial posting.
Not exactly sure where this originated. I've heard rumor it came out of NY. Which horrifies me even more considering the dangerously low level of VIVA, for which NY was at one point quite famous for.
I imagine considerable amounts of unicorn blood was sacrificed in the making of this
