X-Games?

I was wondering if anyone had talked to, or thought about talking to the x-games committee about bike polo. as broey & commercial as the x-games can be, i thought it might be a good in to the mainstream masses. here's why:

-the x-games seems to make fringe sports (street luge etc) into professional outings.
-there are currently NO team sports in the x-games (right?)

thoughts?

really?

As you state already, there are no team sports in the x-games. Hell, paintballers have wanted x-games for ages, but it's always come down to the fact that x-games is all about individual judged or timed (for speed) events. Best they could do was to get a company that is now out of business to front the money and buy a timeslot and host their own miniature tournament on ESPN. HCBP is still in a fledgling state, and has just implemented the system to organize itself. It's got some ways to come. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that there are more organized sports that want the air time, and bike polo has some more ways to go I think.

yeah, but paintball i kind of stupid to watch.
also, x games is still on the air?

fuck that, I'd totally watch paintball.

Pro-friendly bike polo!

Paintball was just an example. I could have said roller derby and the same scenario would still apply.

Yeah, this years X Games just started a few days ago and it's huuuuuge.
I think the reason behind individual sports and no teams, is because think about it, what is easier to market for spontaneous purchase? Everything on there you can do yourself, or strive to do yourself, instead of waiting on approval from a team or committee on what you can and can't use.
Although I don't know if it was a joke or not, but I remember for an extremely short run, they had dodgeball on ESPN 4 or something like that, but hey, it was promoted for a short while, all thanks to a certain movie.

Bike polo would need some kind of Hollywood attention before it gets to ESPN

give blood. play polo.

I have definitely seen paintball tournaments on TV.
