Northern Standard - Polo Mallet Progress Update

Hi folks, We just wanted to give you an update what we are up to @ Northern Standard following The NA's and getting ready for the Worlds.

Check out our 2 minute video, and we welcome your feedback.

Are you changing what you're injecting or are you changing the actual design? If I recally correctly, Leon broke both the PE and the nylon heads (both in the game against my team!). Also, I've seen several of the shafts snap in twine cleanly, are those going to change at all?

Pro-friendly bike polo!

Hi Pete, Yea the heads were not strong enough in either HDPE or Poly carbonate which is why we are changing the design. I know a few of our shafts broke at the North Americans as did other manufacturers. Our shafts are 7075 T6 aluminum same as other manufacturers. We are working to build a more innovative design for the shafts which would make them much stronger than anything else made for polo however it might be a while before thats available. For now we think the shafts we sell are good and strong. I've been playing with my Northern Standard shaft for 5 months now and I play 3 -4 times a week.

I've noticed one of the determining factors for durability is not only the type of alloy used, but wall thickness too. What's the wall thickness for a NS shaft?

Wall thickness of NS shafts is 1mm. What do you reckon is the optimum strength to weight ratio regarding wall thickness?

Are you really getting a whole new mold made? My god, that's expensive. Tell me you have a hook up or something.

Good luck! Love the cardigan.

No way around it that I know of; it's expensive.
