I've seen this but have never checked it out. They use wiffle ball bats for mallets.

They are secretive and kinda anti-social. They told us we would "ruin it for everyone" by trying to cooperate with the park board here in town.
Lots of people see them play their game however. They play right next to a popular lake front bike path.
Been meaning to go and check it out. They have been doing their thing for a looong time.
That they use a pink Barbie ball made me chuckle...a lot.
