polo permits

Jokingly I am in line first for a licence.( thank-you spell check)... there is nothing but huge benefits from a permit system. I would like to discuss this.

woadie, can you explain how this would work? i don't have a racing background, but i'm guessing that's where this format exists?

carve. smash. eat shit.

I'm not sure if we're talking format's already, but we sometimes have Roller Derby girls visiting our indoor court who seem to use some type of license model. http://wftda.com/officiating

then i guess you didnt know that licenced racers get six oversized luggage vouchers every year...discount car rental coupons too
let alone that fact that you would have a head count every year

six? a few years ago it was two vouchers, with one airline. oh and 10% discount on that airline. i got a race license just cause i needed to fly somewhere and that airline was already the cheapest option, and i wnated to bring my bike. but we'd probably have to subsume polo under USA Cycling to get the airline sponsorship, they're not likely to sponsor NAH or any other bike polo thing at this stage...

alright..alright..kev, but you shuffle around 2 passes...next thing you know you got a score on travel. even if it was 1/2 a pass it would be something..wtf is diners club?? a bunch of diners. no its folks who band together and get an obscure card that ensures good service with a discount..

btw i dig the license model, i think we could find other benefits to collectively share. i'm was just being pessimistic about the possibility of airline sponsorship, and i don't think we should be joining UCI or USA Cycling at this point.

having ??##'s of players around the world as a legit organization increases sponsorship interest, right now as it stands we are just a loosely organized sports internet group.
when it comes to liability at tournaments the organizers would be taking on less responsibility, therefore freeing them up to organize..
it would sort out confrence's...regions,,and countries.. each player when taking out a licence will state where they are from and have to adhere to that region.
it also would help on a local club level, developing new players by introducing them to a set system where they have a real chance at success
just a few advantages

all very good advantages, are you sure it should be here on a thread? talk to a regional rep, bring it up at a NAH meeting, there's not much our loosely organized group can do as a forums discussion, but those ideas sound LEGIT as f***. thanks sir woadie

What organization is this through? I'm completely lost.

Sounds like a horrible idea. Peak that beak anywhere you can!

I like the idea. This is the first year where NAH is getting money so maybe it could be implemented for next year. I think it's a step in the right direction to have individual player fees, which in turn would allow for the perks you speak of.

Kev - I can see NAH modeling after UCI for certain organizational tactics such as a permit and other things, but I don't see us ever joining them.
