Polo Trippin' -Portland-Seattle-Chicago-Sac...
Hello Poloverse! I have a one-way ticket to Portland for the Young Retirees tournament. From there I would like to head north to Seattle, possibly cross the border to Vancouver & Victoria, eventually make my way out to Chicago to cheer & heckle at Bench Minor II and make my way back west for Sactown Polomania in the good ol' golden state. From there...possibly hook up with the Slaycation van?
If anyone is able to put me up for a few days in any of these cities (except Chicago- I got a place to stay there), I would appreciate it so much! ... and maybe even make you some pickles.
Minneapolis is in between Portland and Chicago to be sure.
We can hook you up with a place to crash and court to play on while you are here.
Thanks Sveden, added MPLS to the trip. I think I'm gonna arrive with a Pepper, too --Donnie Pepper, that is!
Ride, bake, polo, repeat.
You could cut through Missouri/Kansas/Colorado instead of Iowa/Nebraska/Wyoming on your way from Chicago to Sacramento...you could make it through these towns without adding more than 5% travel time- Decatur, IL; St. Louis; Columbia, MO; Lawrence, KS; Denver; (these are the ones I know). If you make it to Columbia or Lawrence I can always offer up a place in Kansas City.

I made a crazy map that takes a big U thru the midwest and plants me back in L.A. for a spell before NA's. I'll link it when it's a little less crude. I'd also like to spend some time on this trip camping, if anyone would care to recommend a good place to stop or would care to join me for a spell along the way.
Ride, bake, polo, repeat.
I definitely jump at any chance to go camping anymore, and I know there are Columbia folks that would definitely be up for one with enough notice. Central/southern central Missouri has quite the picturesque outdoors. I've been meaning to do Katy Trail:

There's also Starved Rock State Park near Chicago, the Ozarks are a few hours out of your way. Lawrence has Clinton Lake state park nearby and they play polo 3 times a week so that's a solid plan if you wanted to polo/camp at the same time. But hell I miss the old railroad trails in Minnesota, they're beautifully paved and besides the mosquitoes their camping is better (in my opinion). Really, the midwest has a lot of good areas for camping, you just have to decide which is best for you.

For sure! We did 4 or 5 bike camp trips last summer, with the farthest being about 38 miles each way. Not terribly far, but let's be honest, it's more about drinking and having fun than riding far. And you don't need to ride far to take in some great scenery and find cool spots to camp.
Pro-friendly bike polo!
Take care of our Krista out there on the road people. She's great on the court, and in the kitchen too. Also if any of u ever make it to LA for a vacation or whatever, u will probably wind up at her place and in great comfort, as several visiting Slayers from all over can already attest.
Seattle has got you covered, We're good for it.

Sweet Mike, thanks! Can't wait to polo in Seattle!

Well, well, well...some of you have taken the best care of me (everyone who I have visited). Thank you Portland Polo House, Seattle Polo Mansion, SpokAndrew & Gabe and the Spokane crew, Jeremy & ya'll in Missoula, and Stefano (thank you so very very much!) in SLC. I have so much love in my heart for the most beautiful sport and the people who give their hearts and souls to it.
I have re-routed myself to NYC for a fantastic opportunity to be part of an 8-week intensive writing program; I arrived yesterday and was walking into class less than two hours after walking out of the train and into Penn Station. I have some friends I am staying with here, so I am again so well taken care of. Travelling and playing polo in new cities on different courts and immersing myself in the essence of polo that exists everywhere that polo does has made me the happiest girl ever.
I am partly saddened that I won't be visiting everyone in Bozeman, Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Kansas City & CoMo this summer, but thank you all so much for opening your homes & hearts FOR THE LOVE OF POLO! I hope that I can visit ya'll soon...perhaps after my program is done (mid-August) or maybe in the fall...but I will most surely see many of you in Chicago! Still gonna make my way out for Bench Minor, OF COURSE!
