Rumor: Cincinnati fall polo tournament Nov. 1 as companion to the fourth annual Evil Alleycat (Oct. 30th) and the third annual Pumpkin Rally (Oct. 31).
a few people at the Ramsey Bowl were discussing how cool it would be if a few cities (close-ish) to each other, or not, planned tournaments on consecutive weekends in a row to facilitate summer tour du polo.
That would be sweet ,, Ramsay is set for next year already.. Justin posted dates , scheme scheme, plot plot.. we are already working on next years bowl.

The last couple of years we've been having a small tournament in late november/early december, and another at the end of april tied to the Bike Rider's Ball... I don't know if we'll do these again this year (we don't plan that far in advance...) but would be three years running if it happens again... we'll keep you posted.

Portland will be hosting polo for the Westside Messenger Invite on Memorial weekend. It is the tenth anniversary and they are keeping it in Portland. It will likely just be one day.
It is time to have a separate Westside Polo Invite to cover the west coast and to separate ourselves from their event.
We will also be hosting PDX II June 19-20 same place same arrangement. If we can agree on it this may be part of the Triple Crown, but I am not sure of everybody's ideas on how that was going to work.
Maybe at a separate time in the year the Westside Polo Invite could become a part of this. I don't know. Ideas?

I think it is long overdue to host a seperate west side polo tourney. My over ambitious dream for the Westside Invite itself was to rotate to all the west coast cities and I think it would be a great idea for polo as well. There are so many tourneys now it is simply unrealistic to make it out to all of them so having one large scale well organized west coast tournament in a different city every year (possibly even one for North/South west coast invite?) would keep the pressure on organizers and prevent the event hangover problems from cropping up. I just think it would distill out the events to some serious competition and keep it relatively cheap and focused for those of us who can't globe hop like all you millionaire playgirls/boys. Just something to think about.

i agree with the concept of the triple crown and urge cities to have one major tourney a year. seattle portland and vancouver could each have their major tourney be the "one of three" triple crown tourneys. if one of those cities (and it is most likely it will be one of those cities at this point) wants to do the westside, then that westside will count as that city's triple crown offering for that year. we could get an airline to sponsor a team for a polo world tour if they win all three (THE TRIPLE CROWN!!!). thoughts?

how would people feel about a possible throw in tournament in nyc in the spring? birdseye and i were talking about having 3 catagories of players where you would rank yourself a 1, 2, or 3 where 1s are the strongest players and 3s were weaker players. one person from each catagory would be put on a team at random so it was all fairly even.

NSPI was labour day weekend in 2007 and 2008, it got bumped up last year cause of the worlds.
We had to work around the dates of na's and world's. And we don't do anything early in the season. That leaves Labour Day as the only long weekend both north and south of the border. Just think, we will most likely be able to say that we have both the north american and world champions competing. Freshly crowned and what not.
Also this years registration will be capped at a set number of teams to be determined later, making it a true invite only event.

I don't think that we have the triple crown events planned this way at all. April is portland, seattle has yet to announce anything except a swaffle, and east van is a september thing.

A little closer to being more than a rumor: POLO CAMP 2010
DC Bike Polo would like to gauge the interest in a Polo Camp-Out / Extended Pick-Up Weekend for Memorial Day – May 29, 30, 31.
If people are down, DC would host the weekend in Frederick, MD (45 minutes West of Baltimore, 45 minutes North of DC) on two side-by-side full-size street hockey courts. Bike polo has been explained to the local Department of Parks and Rec, and they are willing to issue permits for our use of the space. The courts have excellent lights, and can be used until 10pm.
Details are still being determined, but this would likely be a relaxed, pick-up focused weekend, with a fun mini-tournament of some kind. Camping with bonfire, BBQ, live music etc., would be 15 minutes from the courts by car. Costs for the weekend would be $15 - $20 per person.
what about putting it close to espi for a bigger draw

not sure if you heard about our Hockey Polo Challenge this past weekend but it was awesome and could be incorporated into to bike camp... talk to Kenny D here at EVBP ... hockey style 3 x 20 min periods teams of 8-9 players, so your playing for an hour.. who doesn't love that.....totally rad!

DTLA Bike Polo Hosts Mini Pickup Tourney
Burlington will be putting together a small Northeast / New England tourney at some point in July... we're going to lose our awesome waterfront polo court this fall to a development and want to host a tournament on it before it gets torn down in the name of progress. We hope to draw some attention to our situation and show parks and rec that we are an organized sport with legit players from the NE.
Working to pick a date soon, thinking maybe the July 9-11th weekend since some people might be able to stop by en route to Madison.

Little Rock is thinking about holding some friendlies this fall. We plan on going to the Austin tourney October 30 and 31 so we're thinking maybe a few weeks before or after. Any interest?

I've heard some more definitive rumors about Seattle hosting their Triple Crown tourney sometime in October.

Jake- We still need a Spring Midwest location before a fall...Maybe STL, Bloomington, Cleveland, etc. We should have figured out all this at the Midwest in MPLS. Also, Chicago is already hosting the next Bench Minor with our new hockey boards!
i think spring is a better time to head south. weather usually a bit better than May in MKE. sept/oct weather is usaully way better in mke. STL/or bloomington step up!??!

Lexington is planning on hosting the 1st Midwest Open tournament this November during the weekend of the 13th & 14th. By "Open", we mean that it will be open to cities not exactly in the Midwest, and that it will be a big, fun 2-day tournament hosted by a city in the Midwest Region (home of the very best polo in the world, of course). It is our hope that this can become another Midwest tradition that other Midwest cities will be up for passing along, much like the Midwest Champeenships, but perhaps more laid-back.
Despite it being an open tournament, we will likely have to cap the registration somewhere around 40 teams, due to the limitations of our court setup.
Stay tuned for more info, and we'll let everyone know in advance when registration will be opened up. We are going to try to set up a registration site, with payment options, and we'll let you know when that is up and running. Thanks for your patience.

The All Florida Tournament 3 is going to be in December. The city hosting it is yet to be determined. Cities are bidding now. However, this one is for Florida residents only. Sorry guys.
completely a pipe dream at this point, but new orleans is talking about doing a tournament in late february when carnival 2011 begins. the weather is usually in the 50s at that time, flights are still reasonable because it's almost a month before mardi gras day, the best parade (krewe du vieux) rolls that saturday, and it's going to be snowy & shitty up north, so it would behoove you guys to travel south of the mason dixon. another plus is that the new projects the city is building (replacing the famous magnolia projects, btw) next to the park we play in central city will probably be done by that time, so an authentic new orleans experience is guaranteed.

ya it's on my list too. in the meantime, confirmed tournaments are on the tournaments page (albeit not on a calendar layout), and i try to keep the list at the top of this forum thread up to date with the rumoured ones.

Definitely gonna be some major polo playing first weekend in August in Seattle to coincide with the Dead Baby Downhill. maybe it won't be North Americans, but you have to remember last NA's, yeah, we're gonna out do ourselves for 2011
seattle's triple crown tourney is Messman's 10th in Oct 2010. Next year the triple crown event will be in july so we can end the triple crown series with the East Van Crown.

yeah jav's right. We only have 2 maybe 3 female girls who play in Boston on a regular basis, that would have meant we would have had to import girls for this tournament to play with our teams.

Last minute fundraiser tournament in Little Rock Sunday of Labor Day weekend. That's this weekend on the 5th. We are in the last push to get enough funds to fix our courts on September 11th and this tournament will mostly squeeze a few buck out of ourselves but we wanted to open it up of course in case anyone else can make it. $30 bucks per team. We're working on food. Right now plans are for Sunday only but depending on demand we are ready to add a day. If you can make it, we WILL have a free place for you to stay. Sorry for the last minute notice but we'll work to have a great event if you can make it. Also, we're working on some sort of cool prize and we will have a tournament page by tomorrow. Thanks guys! Think about it, we'd love to have you and could use your help with our courts.

Rumor has it there will be Four Loco tournaments making up a NAHella tour. I heard clubs where going to bid for tour spots and 2011 is going to be the polofiesta that never ends. Confirm or Delay!
4th annual 2v2 milwaukee last weekend in march or first weekend in april. we've got some other ideas in the works as well. come to the city that made bike polo famous
