Going to Berlin...
Alright, there are a BUNCH of North American's heading to Berlin and the purpose of this thread is to get some answers and coordinate hangout/travel seshes.
First off: Berlin, what is the housing situation like? I will be there for three weeks and it would be rad to couch surf, meet you all, and see the city (and possibly do some other small trips from Berlin).
Secondly, when are the rest of you North Americans getting in? I will post my travel plans and encourage you all to do the same and maybe we can hook up. Phone calls, PMs, Skype, whatev. Let's organize some fun...
I already have my tickets and will be in Berlin from July 29th to August 17th. What are your plans?
Also:
1. I need to get from Milwaukee to Madison anytime between Wednesday July 14th and the tournament two days later.
2. I need to get to Chicago at some point in the week following the NA's
3. I need to get from Chicago to Milwaukee and I have from August 17th until the 19th to do so.
If any midwesterners could assist with any of these plans I would be greatly indebted. Thanks already to Ben Schultz for the place to stay ion Chicago and the the promise of "we'll get you there" from Madison to Chicago.

Nice idea martin. London, I hear most of you guys will be in Munich before worlds. I want to fly into London the last weekend of July and spend 4-5 days there... will anyone be around? We plan on visiting Paris for the first week of August, will you guys in Paris be around or are you also heading to Munich, and if so when?

My pre-worlds schedule is similar. I get into London on the 26th of July. Hoped to make it to Paris for a few days and then some other polo friendly cities on the way to Berlin.

Martin - Milwaukee to Madison is nothin. We have been in talks with madison about 15 passenger vans as we anticipate others with similar needs.
For europe plans. - I am flying into Frabkfurt 8/9 looking to get to Berlin asap. I fly out of Paris 9/9, In between I wann see europe and have fun. Amsterdam london wherever. I have never been to europe so am reasonably amped. If anyone out there wants to put mme and mygirlfriend up anywhere that would be the best.

A return trip by bus is 66 euros plus 10 euros each way for a bike. That's 86 euros round trip. I think I'd be able to do it!

hmm. dates are still flexible. tentatively it's looking like we'll be leaving Paris for Munich the 8th of August (i guess depending on what their plans are). hang in munich till the 12th or 13th (depending on what everyone there has planned for heading to berlin). what's your plan look like?

skipping amsterdam is plausible, we should definitely meet up in paris irregardless! i will be there by the 2nd or 3rd probably. when i get my frenchie SIM card for my cell phone i'll get you that number.
i'll be staying with my Gparents in Paris, they have a flat they're renting from Aug 1-10th... if you get really stuck for a place maybe I can convince them to let us ruin their lives... yeah! The 3 is you and your team or you and mcK and ?

The Palais de Tokyo fountain has been refilled with water about a month ago, but i am sure we'll manage to find a convenient solution/decent court to make sure everyone coming to Paris this summer gets a high dose of polo.

Hi everyone,
I'm booking tickets in a few days, waiting on Ray to get his new passport and passport number.
Ray and I will be flying in and out of London Wednesday the 11th Aug to Monday the 23rd. We're yet to book any transport to/from London/Berlin from the 11th to the 13th. Ryan Air/Easy jet etc is what we were thinking, let us know if you have any advice.
Rob/mossko has similar dates and Tali/Whitey will also be around but travelling separately.

check BA, I book last week for £58each way with no restrctions for the bike.
Ryanair and Easyjet are very picky and will charge you for eveything, literary. 1kg over with Ryanair is £20.

I'm shipping my bike from berlin back to australia with DHL. (i'm traveling after the worlds) They're quoting 85 euro for a package 120 x 60 x60cm and up to 20kg. Pretty sweet! (this is not the fast service though. I think it's taking two or three weeks)
Worth checking though.

Hey!!! I totally should have posted on here sooner. Things worke out and I'll b playing with Chris Simpson at worlds. Looks like I am going to be flying into London in early august and then fully winging it from there. Can anyone help me out with the best way to get to Berlin ?? I hate flying. From what i know. There is very limited private housing. There is a grass area that will be available for camping and a hall right next to the court for sleeping in too.

sitting in the bar in lhr london. waiting for my flight to berlin. guess what. my bike flew FREE from chicago, and i did not get charged when checking it to berlin. no lying, excuses or anything. hell, a baggage guy at o'hare came up to me and was like, "bike? i can help you right over here" and opened up a station for me. no lines and no fees. you better believe i am bringing home that gorgeous trophy.
