Worlds 2012 Pre-bidding and disscussion thread

Hi all,
As you may know yet, Geneva want to organize next worlds champs in 2012. But "want" don't necesserly mean could...
We are now looking for the spot and get some troubles to find one. So we can't say that we are sure to be ready to host this event.
So my point here is: If there is any other city who want and could make this event happens, this city should say it and move on with a pre-bid.

Here is the Geneva one:
If we can use the spot we are aiming for now thats:
-3 courts, maybe bit smaller than seatlle one, perfect concret.
-late august dates (we have to make this on college school, so they have to be in holydays).
-Lake next to the court.
-Small number of team allowed, around 48.
-Free housing in local's house, or in city bunker.
-Expensive city but cheap facilites.

We are looking now for another spot, covered, to put more courts, but that's really hypothetical.

Best of luck Clement. I really hope yoyu guys can make it.

*Somebody please think of the children!!*

London 2012. Coincide it with the olympics, people might actually think it's an olympic sport.

while this would be hilariously awesome, im sure airline ticket will be through the roof because of the olympics.

GOOD! That finally gives me an opportunity to organize the NAHBP Party Cruise Across the Pond - let's rent a ship, motor along for a week, and bring enough alcohol to kill a small army. Actually, a large army. There's not shit to do out in the middle of the ocean.

Pro-friendly bike polo!

International Waters, the ultimate party zone.

London will be hosting the Open the weekend before (or after) the worlds and will be talking with Geneva (and anyone else that bids) about dates to try and avoid any Olympic tax/expensive flights. August would be perfect, etc.

We're currently trying to secure 4 (large) courts for it and want it to be the biggest/baddest Open to date.

Why not bid on worlds

Not sure, the LO is going from strength-to-strength each year and we held (started) the Euros in 2009, I think everyone would rather travel to the Worlds in 2012 than organise it... I'll discuss it with others at throw-ins.

On a personal level organising the LO is super easy now, whereas organising the Worlds seems like a much bigger kettle of fish.

I understand. But Geneva held the euros last year. Frankly holding a big tournament like the euros is a prerequisite to holding the worlds.

how many teams from each region would 48 be >>>>>>>>>>gulp
