NAHBPC 2012

Milwaukee is expressing early signs of interest. Anyone else?

Midwests and NA's?

Those courts are pretty awesome...

st. louis, missouri

It'll never happen, but, oh god yes.

You'll see. Unless you drilled out your eyes because they were too heavy.

i second stl, but put on by comopolo instead.

I recall Ben saying on the float trip that logistically STL couldn't do it.

But it would be nice.

they have told us several times that if we set it up they'll be there haha

True, but when Lee and Ben got to discussing it around the campfire, they realized how much of a mess it'd be. Much like us, they don't have several courts in one location that have lights.

Maybe they have since changed their mind and realized they could come up with some alternative.

I'd like to see it somewhere as central as possible as to please east and west coasters

mm

do it mke.

Back to the midwest!? Hmm, okay.

That shit 's legit as fuck!

Do it Milwaukee, do it!

Your central location in the country, proximity to major airports, inexpensive cost of visiting and event running experience make Milwaukee an ideal location...

probably too seriously...

But make sure to have scoreboards this time.

yeah i was disappointed on the scoreboard issue as well. were there any issues on teams not know the score though or the wrong score being reported?

it would obviously be fixed for a major like NAHBPC.

The score was reported incorrectly on at least 2 of our games on sunday, but it didn't matter on sunday because it's just a W/L scenario. I wish we woulda put up 3 on machine politics the second time around!

I'm just givin' you shit anyway.

Central location = somewhere close to Chicago (for coastal dwellers this includes all cities between Cleveland and Denver).
Major airports = ORD and only a 90 minute drive from there.
Inexpensive cost of visiting = big back yards and cool neighbors.
...event running = beer without 10% sales tax.

In all seriousness I am very excited at the idea of MKE hosting. I love the city and none will question their capability. Just no parking garage knife fights.

I smell party bus!

I'm wary to your party bus tricks Jake. You almost killed us last time, My liver will be properly seasoned before this.

Nice!

Hello everyone in the poloverse.

this is coming from an official position:
WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE INTENT TO BID FOR NAHBPC 2012 OFFICIALLY FROM ANY CITY BY DEC.1, 2011.
intent to bid can be replied to here, or emailed to me directly: chandelbodner@gmail.com
this is ANY city that is considering putting in a bid.

thank you.
dates for bidding on NAHBPC and the 'tour' coming shortly.

[sidenote: mke consider yourself noted as intending and you can send a bid whenever you want, but others will still have time]

it is Dec.1
no other city has submitted an intent to be for the North American Hardcourt Bike Polo Championships 2012 besides MKE
MKE has the outline for their bid and should be returning it shortly.

If you are intending to bid please advise by the end of today. I will then give you the same outline they received and wait.

Thanks.

that's kind of a bummer that only one city wants to host the NA's.

Why?

Hosting tourneys is a ton of effort with no pay.

And that doesn't strike you as a bummer? He didn't say it was surprising... he said it sucks that there isn't more desire to host tournaments.

I would love to be part of organizing a tournament, but I know city isn't equipped for such a tournament at this time. I'm sure other cities feel the same

AZ considered putting in a bid. We'd see too many of polo's finest fail to finish the tourney thanks to the 110 degree temps.
