OK this is a lot more detail than i expect people to have about stuff that happened earlier.
if only know name/date/location, don't let that stop you from posting something.

LOBP launched in June 2008. There are a few tournaments i added from Spring 2008, as i built out the site. But we've never gone back and added tournaments from before that.
If you have info about hardcourt bike polo tournaments that happened before then, post it here in a comment.
Here are the basics we need:
This is all bonus:
Deadline end of October...

I should be able to at least get the images from t-shirts we had at these tournaments. I also want to mention that these were some of the most fun, disorganized events I have participated in. No, there weren't sponsorships and prizes. No! We didn't need permits from the Parks Board...
Apoloclypse
April 21/22, 2007
Grandview Park, East Van
(note: won by Bjorn, Ringer and Mason and they rolled out of town with hand made trophies in a massive puff of ahem, smoke...)
Northern Crown
July 1, 2007
Grandview Park, East Van
Tour de Polo
July 2007
Seattle
I'll let Seattle fill in the details - Polo Bear and the East Side Shuffle -best co-ed team-name!
(Note: I think Ringer won this one too. Fucker. We had to play the semi-final and final games up on the street for some bike event Messman had arranged.)
The Cascadia Fall Classic
November 3/4, 2007
Night Court and Grandview Park, East Van
(Note: this was rained out and we moved the pot-luck dinner to an earlier hour at my house so that we could watch the hockey game. We proceeded to the night court to finish up about 22 games in three hours. Last game involved throwing every crushed can available at Messman. Someone may have slept in my bathtub after throwing himself off my balcony. Patricia may have thrown beer bottles at the court during games... I think Hicks slept in the laundry room...)
Someone Killed Santa... (or something like that...)
Victoria
December 2007
I'll let Victoria fill in the details
(Note: this was the first tournament Leon and SeaBass won. I played with them to beat Ballz Deep for 1st. SeaBass went on to break his collar bone at the alleycat not an hour after we'd won.)
Also:
* "Polorobics" tourney, which I think was September '07. Grandview Park, East Van.
Lisa, I played with you and Damon. Team "The Kelly Gang".
Players from Van, Vic, Seattle, maybe elsewhere too? I have a few photos I can dig up of this.
* Two on Two tourney at Strathcona Park, East Van. I think this was either later in the year or maybe the following year. Same weekend as Velomutations, which may make putting a date to it easier. I played with Ryan D. You played with Bob. I remember this much, 'cause you were the ones to knock us out!

The 2v2 tournament was in August 2008 to celebrate EVBP's 2nd birthday. It was at Strathcona Park. I think Bob and I took second or third, I think thrid. I don't remember who won because I had to leave. Faron was also on our team. He showed up and didn't have a team, so we would sub him in for me from time to time.
im assuming you have the midwest championhsip tourneys in madison and chicago on grass. or do those not count cuz they were grass?

fall of 1999 I had hosted a small tourney, first in Seattle that I know. Maybe 6 teams. Winners, Tim Mason (still playing in pdx), Dillon Cantfield "billydotcom"(sea/pdx/just moved to Austin) and Chris Baker (no longer plays) won half oz and 3 pipes. I think some Portland teams came.
Rev Phil made pretty much the first video of HC polo from summer of 2003, before CMWC in Sept. We didn't give names of tournaments or take many pictures back then. But this is when I think polo began spreading though the messenger world and beyond.

2005 CMWC @NYC polo random pictures. I kinda organized pickup on the eastside. First time playing with people from around the world! it was awesome. There was not a tournament.

WSI west side invites in mostly Portland starting in 2001, Portland and Seattle had a year contingency, turning into a rival that became the one of the longest running polo battles still. Teams are in LA for the WSI this weekend for the the "belts".
I think the belts came out in 2008. I lost to these due to a broken bike.
WSI 2007 1st -- Peter Kriesll, Matt Case, Myself
WSI 2006 1st -- David "Polonie" Wells, MIke Dodge, Myself

I think the first SF tourney was July 2007 during the NACCC's. It was in Panhandle Park with no boards.
But it was sponsored by Pabst and there was a pyramid of 12-packs.
Back then SF Hardcourt was still young and Oakland Polo still existed...
Maybe Ethan (moved to LA), Dustin (SF), and Justin (M.I.A.) won it...
Lefty Bullshit!
no, those guys didn't win. looks like maybe drew and casey on the kegs?
this event had more non-playing spectators than any i've been to since. probly had lots to do with the mountain of free PBR deposited in the middle of the panhandle.
There may have been a NACCC poster...

Was that the summer southie tournie? We had a couple Richmond tournaments pre-2008 but nothing significant. The put up or shut up tournament had some out of town players. Winner takes all the cash, I ended up injured when a retired DC player wrecked me hard that day. We headed to dc a few months later for espi 3. I think we had a couple events pre 2008 I'll try to get some solid info
What about NACCC's 2006? Waiting to throw what I know about that tourney on when someone who was actually there posts info.
NACCC'S 2006 were held in Philadelphia Labor day weekend and I threw the polo tournament together last minute . Not sure how many teams, think like 8 to10.
We played at Tip Top park were the first ESPI was held in 2005.
All I remember about that day is seeing Angelo change out his chainring to a smaller one and thows guys from Ottawa won.
1st A-TEAM (Alexis,Angelo, Allen)
2nd ???
3rd ???
If any of the A TEAM has any info about this tourament I would like to hear about it.
Is there any picture out there of this day?
You make the rules, I'll play the game.
All I remember about that day is seeing Angelo change out his chainring to a smaller one and thows guys from Ottawa won.
revolutionary, so to speak
Weren't they the EH Team?
Okay catfish, I'm going to move my mouth like this...
I don't remember the chainring change but I do remember the win. I also remember Marco making these spoke cards on the day of, back when spoke cards were king. No prizes.
We got asked that a lot down there. "Are you guys the A-Team or the Eh! Team?" A-Team. Alexis, Allen, Angelo.

Hello we started zoobombing in 2002 pretty soon after that we began playing with the axles of evil in Portland, but
We played on 16 inch kids bikes. We played polo not rollo. Same rules as today except west coast was circle out not center tap. ... In june 2003 we hosted the zoobomb minibike summer polo tournament ... We played in 16inch bikes but others played on big polo bikes team skirt from Seattle won I think. The cutters from sf and Portland played (Sean, bru,.. I can't remember) those guys got in a heated argument with some ladies about the way the cutters chose to refer to lesser play (insert homophobic rants here). Any way we knocked the cutters out of the tournament 3 little bikes beat 3 full size bikes in one of the most physical games ever
Played....let's
Just say this one ended up
With a barroom brawl at the Vern later that evening!!! Anyway it was a great time in June 2003. Portland Oregon .the day after the tournament I moved to
Richmond Virginia ... A few weeks later made some mallets and hard court bike polo was introduced to richmond, Va...also of note in 2008 the cutthroats bike club put in the put up or shut up polo tournament $50 per team winner take all . That was won by me and Luke who runs bunyhop bike shop and Dennis throckmorton.. (carrer earnings personally like $80)
Finally 2 years ago as part of our major eager called Slaughterama we had the tandem polo tournament!!!!
Really it was regular polo but in the middle of the day we had an exhibition match using 4 tandem bikes 2 on 2... Fun to watch but a total disaster for the bikes!!!!!
Anyway these things happened.
Ps we also did a "wacky" polo day where we set up some wedge ramps/bmx style fun boxes all around a polo "court" .. Mini golf esque ... Not serious , but worth noting as something that has been done in Richmond, va
OK here's an example from a tournament that i almost went to.
