Milwaukee What you will want to do now if you have qualified is book your flights. Fly into MKE or else fly into Chicago and take a bus/train up to Milwaukee. The Amtrak is cheap or the megabus or greyhound but they charge for bikes. You might actually save money by just flying straight to MKE if possible. From the airport take the Greenline bus or the #80 bus into the city. Either way is cool and take you right downtown. Supposedly Chicago is renting a party bus so talk to them about getting on board.
Working on hotel deals but the tournament weekend is the last weekend of The World’s Largest Musical Festival and may cause some issues at least with getting a deal. If you need a hotel to stay in they are cheap so book it now. If you can wait another week I am waiting to confirm college dorm type accomodations for cheaper than a real hotel. If you want to stay at a house let Birdie know she will be coordinating that, but we are not a huge club.
Registration will be coming real soon as well.

what made you choose to do this on a holiday week? gonna be a lot more expensive to travel/next to impossible for me to get enough time off for a three day tournament.
I wasn't aware that July 4th was more than a one day holiday. I also wasn't aware that so many people travel on july5th-9th? At least by plane...
I have honestly never heard of July 4th being a huge plane travel holiday. One train of thought was maximizing the holiday off time. if you have off of work on the 4th you only need to take 3 days off(if you take off monday after) I took 7 days off of work to get to calgary last year, and if i didn't drive i would have had to spend $750 on the flight. We all make sacrifices in this sport. What it seems to me is you aren't taking it seriously enough as some say. But really in the end it is near impossible to make everyone happy. So sucks if this makes it complicated for you i guess.
The date was chosen to give enough time before worlds and enough time after the June 3rd date of Quals having to be done by.
Now before everyone jumps all over me about issues with this tournament, Ill preface this by saying you could have put in a bid and done all the work. From what I can tell if we didnt step up to do this, from my knowledge we were the only bid, it migth have been in danger of not happening or being thrown together last minute.
Also to preface any crazy shit forum talking For the most part i will not be responding to crap talk about why this or why that or you shoulda done this or you shoulda done that on the forum. I will answer legitimate questions on tournament details.

actually, that's a myth. this helpful article will teach you all about chiggers. i only know cause once in college my roomates and i went camping off a trail, woke up covered in chigger bites, and spent the next week in a shared hell of itchiness. we would have bathed in nail polish if it were that easy.
they really don't come around till sunset but can be bad if its been wet. bring bugspray.
It won't be as bad as in Madison, I can tell you that. Especially since the MKE courts are in a city and not in the middle of a field like Madison.
A small crew from Mpls will be filming this tourney and will likely broadcast it live via The Internet.

Got 12th in Austin and Tempe. 5th in Ladies Army IV Co-ed. If ya wannnna wannnna wannnna have someone to talk to and take the castle by storm i got a fully committed liver and a chortle box to take us through as your 3rd.
Wouldn't be that hard to throw together a 6 hour wildcard event beforehand. Fuck, I'll come on Thursday and run it. 12 team, 3 rounds of swiss, single elim, 12 minute games. I'll even pick up all the trash. Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnn man.

Having/not having a wildcard will be determined by how many pre-qualfied teams register. IF we do allow you to come and run a wildcard we will not be deciding if it is necessary or warranted until after the Last regional qualifer has been completed. This will still give wild card interested teams at least 3 weeks to decide if they are coming for it.

The bus will leave when the majority of people can leave. Which is probably Thursday afternoon/evening. It won't be swinging by the airport since we will all have to be in the same location. It will be cheap and fun though! Spread the word if you don't mind.

I am looking into utilizing college dorm type housing which will be about 25$/night for non-AC and $40 for AC. The hotel deals we tried to work out are all $129+ a night and not really near anything (due to the festival i was talking about). We should be announcing these options officially VERY SOON.

i hear that the 4th of july is awesome in Miwaukee. Is it worth getting in as early as the 3rd for pre party polo party ?If there is a wild card it would be the 5th right so the 3rd will be time enough to get over jet lag , get acclimatized and eat some cheese and sausage.Goin to eat as many mosquitos as possible b4 y'all get there?
