Pittsburgh's 3rd Annual "Fourth" of July Friendlies
After a brief NAHBPC-induced hiatus, Pittsburgh once again welcomes you to spend the 4th of July weekend with us. There will be tons of polo, grilling out, and summer good times to be had by all!
WHEN: The morning of Saturday July 6th until Sunday July 7th. There will be people at the court around 10 AM on Saturday.
WHERE: Bloomfield Polo Court, under the Bloomfield Bridge. There is a parking lot under the bridge, also. The entrance is at Liberty Avenue and Ewing Street, behind Paul Lumber.
COST: We are still determining cost but the number will likely be ~$5 a head
FOOD: We will provide drinking water, napkins/plates/utensils/cups, separate grills for meat and vegetarian food, and enough burgers (meat and veggie) for Saturday and Sunday. You bring whatever other food for the grill or sides that you want. There is a grocery store across the street from the court as well as a couple of easily accessible organic markets (Whole Foods and Giant Eagle Market District) within 5-10 minutes of the court if you need them.
POLO: Pick-up, pick-up, pick-up. There will also be a throw-in double-elimination tournament.
HOUSING/RSVP's: Please send an email to pghbikepolo [at] gmail [dot] com if you need housing. Include the number of people, when you plan to arrive, and any other important info (like animal allergies, etc.)
OTHER: Feel free to come down a few days early! There's plenty of awesome mountain biking in and around the city as well as a brand-new indoor mountain bike/BMX park (http://www.thewheelmill.com/). Also, on the actual 4th of July, the city of Pittsburgh will put on a huge fireworks display that we'll ride down and watch.
I was a little behind in getting the word out there for this event, so keep an eye out for any small changes/additions in the next couple of weeks, and we'll see you here in July!
