Courts are 125' by 55'. street-hockey courts and one has boards with banked corners.
Helmets please!

Fri nite: Meet at MacArthur Park/Pickup games/Go get beer & pizza/Early registration.
Sat 10 am: Meet at courts/Late registration
Sat 11 am: Games start: Pick up games on court (A)...Friendly tourney on court (B)
Sat nite: Vino's upper deck outside reserved for players @ 8p! (7th & Chester St)
Sun 10 am: Get to courts & drink coffee/recover
Sun 11am: Games start: Pick up games on court (A)...Friendly tourney on court (B)

We have (I'm guessing) come up pretyy short on the housing for yall. We are gonna keep searching for lodging, but in the meanwhile, to be up front, it's probably a good idea to assume there isn't going to be enough to cover everyone. Baker park, very close-has camping & we're gonna look into a group campsite. Sorry if it's lame, but there are only a handful of players here. in the meantime, we ARE trying.

Anyone in the south east going to this need a ride? i BELIEVE there will be two cars coming from savannah and going through the following cities:
jacksonville, tallahassee, pensacola, mobile, and new orleans
possibly baton rouge but i think there is a big bike event going on there that weekend

it's yours. there is one single bed, one (tiny) couch, two single big comfy chairs w/ottomans, and floor space for prob 3-4 air mattresses. i also have one full size air mattress.

big living/dining room, one full bathroom, kitchen, and washer/dryer. also internet access. non-smoking home, outdoors on porch okay.

Tulsa has at least 6 maybe more.

It's unlikely to be freezing but I would expect the nights to dip down into the forties. As long as it's not raining a tent would be optional. I think it's best just to sleep under the star in a sleeping bag on a bit of padding. I can't speak for my whole club but I'm down for the camping out.

As of today, I would say that we have about (hopefully) 70 spots for either camping or crashing inside..Schiller Street kids have enormous backyards/woods and are planning on getting shows for one of those nights. About 50 to 60 spots at that one location and maybe about 15-20 spots between lrbp members places. Bring tents..there will be some housing as well. Heck, why don't we just all play on two or three teams? Get real! It's logistical problem for one and a fairness issue for another. logistical solution: i'm on team a and team b, team a being my primary team. when team a plays team b (or if they play on different courts but at the same time), i play on team a and there is a sub that plays in my place on team b. no confusion, in fact it will be transparent as far as anyone that doesn't know us knows. we're going to figure it out before the match and then play. no one else has to figure out anything. i don't see anything not fair about playing on more than one team. if lora wants to be a sub for our secondary team, tell her to talk to us and we'll figure something out. i'm sure there will be a team needing a player that she can play on full time though.

I respectfully disagree. Please make the hard choices it takes to have 3 people per team and one team per person. Creating teams in our club is very hard too. I relate to wanting to come up with a solution where everyone gets to play on a great team and everyone in your club is happy.

between the 2 teams, i'm playing with 1 from new orleans, 1 from savannah, 1 from philadelphia, and 1 from austin so it's not a club thing (it's a friendlies thing, heh). i don't even know why i'm going over this with you. do you have any say in the matter? if the little rock guys are alright with it, which one person has already chimed in, then it's fine. it's not a democracy. the host city chooses the rules. when we come to tulsa, i'll make sure to only be on 1 team. :)

edit: every tournament i've ever been to has had teams with players that played on more than one team. it's never been a problem.

I haven't seen anyone from little rock chime in, yet. If they do say it's fine it will change things and expect to see a lot more B teams and all-star teams being formed. I doubt I'm the only one that thinks having a bunch of teams with different combinations of the same players lessens the tournament. To me, that is what the pickup court is for. There's a better solution then you playing on two teams. Setup another fun format tournament on the pickup court if you want. That way everyone can benefit from your desire to play more polo with more people and your ability to organize. This is nothing personal drizz, I look forward to meeting you and playing against your team.

Just thought I'd drop a line since this weekend came up faster than I anticipated. I have housing I can offer up. I have 3 couches, floor space for 3-4 more and 4 person tent I can put up in the back yard, with a fire pit and all. So I guess I can fit 10 people pretty comfortably. 2 are for Frazer from Mobile and Amanda from Florida, who paid a long time ago, but we just haven't been able to meet up yet.

1 is for DaveO from Little Rock for free, for taking in the box of heads, handling money, and letting some kid from Tulsa ram a 30 team tournament down his city's throat.

I apologize for all of the fighting and disagreements that were had on some parts.We are going to try and make another tourney in Austin this year hopefully and I hope that when we do that you all can make it down here to Austin. I believe we all had a very great time and some great food aswell. It was also great seeing all of our other friends from other states and doing some reuniting and hanging out with them. Wow, what a community! Bike Polo might have just exploded in Liittle Rock!

That was a lot of fun! Little Rock did so much to support everyone in having a great time. Tobi you did an amazing job with the bracket and on the fly changes to make it what everyone really wanted. DaveO that trophy was actually even nicer looking in real life. The party that was Saturday night was just something to behold! I've never seen that many people in one house/yard in my life. Also your court was really great to play on.

A few things that I was wrong about were: people playing on more then one team was no big deal at all, it would have been cool if it happened more; everyone against everyone and taking part of the next day to get it done was overkill and I'm glad that didn't happen.

One thing I think might be nice in future tournaments would be: two single day tournaments without carryover and not necessarily the same teams the next day. Since we've all made good friends across cities, it might be fun to form new teams the next day.

Hey team Orbea, that was interesting! I hope you guys stay with it and some intercity competition starts sprouting up.

Thank you Ben for letting me sleep in your yard and check out your garden, good luck in school.

NOPOLO, to my liking is the perfect blend of dirty & love. Cherri and Amanda I hope you find the perfect third to complement your A game in New York. Lizzy and Frazier thanks for letting me sub on your team, it made my weekend. Austin, what can anybody say but great show all the way around.

leaning and holding onto are different, I would agree though, that putting your arm out to hold onto the board is the same as leaning on the nets, but the advantage is not the same in both situations. now leaning onto the boards with your shoulder per se, isn't the same, but putting your foot onto something to prop yourself up would be. I'm not for propping yourself up with your hands or feet, but leaning or pushing off of the boards with your hands or feet doesn't seem like an offense.... just my two cents...

Austin for Halloween tourney, who would come?, unless of course someone else puts on something even better at that time, then we could change our dates...
