Actually we did go way over the cap, in order to accommodate the significant number of teams who pledged to attend before this was even posted, as well as the greater-than-expected number of local teams. So, now we are building or renting a second court. I was hoping to announce this a little later when I would have more details for everyone.

Burbank is a fun airport to fly into, it's either that or LAX.
LAX tends to be cheaper, but it's a nasty airport. I'm assuming I'll be doing a good portion of the pick up/drop off again, and the airports are equidistant from my house, so whatever works best.

Good news everyone!!! My secretary just cut a check to secure A SECOND POLO RINK !!!! Saturday will feature 2 divisions at 2 separate rinks. You'll play at one of the rinks for up to 10 hours in one division on Saturday, later we'll see how many play on Sunday in North Hollywood in the Double Elimination. Thanks to everyone for being patient and we'll have housing sorted out real soon. So far we're giving the fly-ins first priority, but more free housing is popping up every day.

I will be shipping my bike via UPS to LA and i need an address to send it to? i was hoping to either get it shipped to where i am staying or some where close to the courts that will be open early sat morning. my flight lands after 10 on friday night and im sure there will be no bike shops open at that time. please help me get my bike as close to where i need to be as possible i think i will have the bike arrive thursday or friday depends on when i get to ship it.

Hey everybody. Thank You all for coming out to L.A. What I need now is one member only of each team to select a captain and please email me the following info. Seriously, just one of the three of you. This info is very important, if we don't have it, it may dilute the overall Poloxperience we intend to provide.
1. Team Name, Roster and City(s) and everyone's phone number and email.
2. If yer flying in, what time each of yer team members arrive, and departs, and if yer flying in or out of LAX or Burbank.
3. T-shirt size if u are pre-ordering the shirts. The design is on the flyer at the top.
4. If you are vegan or vegetarian.
5. Any other questions or concerns...
For the people who will be staying in hotels we have a few cheap ones that are bikable to the courts, even on a Polo gear. Some even have hourly rates. I will make a post regarding this shortly.

As promised, here is a list of Flophouses in the immediate area. They are cheap by LA standards, and close enough to the courts to ride to, even on a polo gear.
The first 4 are definitely the cheapest, and don't take reservations. They quoted me $50-$75 a nite for 1 or 2 beds. The first one had a discount for a 3 nite stay. I'm pretty sure you won't need reservations at any of these places.

no you're not the only one. the tournaments forum is for forum threads to discuss tournament organizing etc, not tournament announcements which have dates/sign up/posters/location etc. Actually nothing changed in that respect from the old site. but it's definitely confusing so i'll figure out a solution.

Pickup Games are going on right now. Friday we should have some people at the court as early as 10am. The lights are on there til 11PM. After that we're all gonna ride to Que Ricos for a late dinner.
Saturday Pickup games begin as early as 8AM. Bagels and some really nice coffee will be served at this time. At 9AM we're gonna meet and discuss rules and let every one know which division they're playing in. At 10AM the games begin. We're gonna start the grill around 1 or 2. The lites cut off at 11PM. A group ride to dinner will follow.
SUNDAY pickup games start early, and the first games of the Double elimination will kickoff at 10AM. Breakfast and Lunch will be served. Pickup games and grudge matches will follow the tournament. Lites cut off at 11PM.
One last thing. ALL PICKUP GAMES WILL BE TIMED TO TEN MINUTES. THIS WILL BE ENFORCED. BUT WE WILL ALLOW SUDDEN DEATH IN THE EVENT OF A TIE.
