So, just found out in the last couple of weeks that the BFF is coming to Austin on Dec. 2-5. They have asked if we'd throw a little one day tourney on Dec. 5 for the festivities. I've already contacted the SAPRC where we held the Massacre-ade Ball, and they are cool with us throwing the tourney there. We would probably only have one court, because the BFF wants to do a BMX jam at the same location and they would have the other side of the courts.
WOW!!!! The Austin Texas Massacre-ade Ball was a huge success! There were only a few hiccups during the weekend, but I'm pretty sure everyone had a great time! Thank you to everyone who helped out with housing, preparations, etc. Now we have to start preparing for the LADIES ARMY III !!!!!! count it!
If anyone is looking for a place to stay for the tournament. I have a rental house that sleeps 6. I'm giving polo players a deal $100 a night. House is located about a mile from the courts. If your interested contact me and I'll send you more info.
The tourney is coming up, it's getting real exciting. I hope you all are as excited! I hope you have your teams picked out, your costumes picked out and ready, and your bike all tuned up for one hell'uva weekend! There are still a few details to be worked out, but I think we've got this thing in the bag.
Hey all, If you didn't know we are hosting a Fundraiser at Stevie's pedicab shop this Thursday, the 23rd. Since we are putting this on, and they are generously letting us use their space, we should all chip in and help spruce the place up, so that it looks nice, functions well, and will accommodate all the social ride people. So if you are available to help out tonight(Tuesday) or Wednesday night, or even Thursday before the event, let me or Jasmine know and we can help you help us help the club!! Sound good!?
Thanks to all the people that showed up last night to play polo, drink beer, hang out, and welcome the TNSR to our courts, once again, to help raise some funds for our club!! With all your generous donations and support, we covered the cost of the keg, plus made $145 to go towards funding our Massacre-ade Ball. WHICH IS AWESOME!!! Big special thanks to Keith and Lauren for organizing this and getting involved in our cause, we can't do the things we want without the support of our community, and it's good to know we have it!
Some exciting news for you guys!!! Thanks to Keith, this Thursday we are going to entertain the Thursday Night Social Ride at Eastwoods for a while, as they make their way to Waterloo Cycles for a party! This is a good opportunity to raise some funds for our Massacre-ade Ball Tournament. So, we were thinking we should get a keg o' beer to sell for donations to the Social Ride.
First of all, who is playing? Let's start to get an idea of how many teams we are bringing to the table (i hope EVERYONE plays!)Second, we have to make four goals. Miguel has started this task. I wonder if he needs any help finishing the project? Talk to him and find out!Third. We need volunteers (everyone who can help) to commit to building and breaking down wood boards for the court perimeters BEFORE AND AFTER the tournament! Here's everything else I can think of.
So, as you all know, Tuesdays have dwindled lately and it's getting old riding out to givens, waiting for hours, and no one shows up to play, so it's been suggested to have Tuesdays be at Eastwoods now, until we can find another place, or until the East Side becomes more enticing... So with that said, TUESDAY POLO AT EASTWOODS PARK! 5:30 PMAlso, thanks to everyone who went down to San Marcos to play. It was a great time and I hope we can all do it again real soon! 3,2,1, POLO
In case you haven't heard, there is a plan to go to San Marcos tomorrow(Sunday) and play some bike polo. They don't get started until 7 pm so we have plenty of time to get organized and get down there. I'd like to propose that we meet up at Eastwoods as usual, maybe a bit earlier, play a few games, and then get our bikes and bodies into cars and head down there. As usual, I will probably be out there around 2 ish, just in case anyone wants to come out at the official start time and hit the ball around.
Tuesday night polo has been dwindling a bit at Givens. What's the deal, are you all not wanting to go over there, are y'all scared, is it too hot, is it too far, is it not as much fun? I showed up around 8 and no one was there, Kristina, Zach, Matt, and Devin showed up after me, not enough to play, plus the lights weren't on! I propose we discuss changing Tuesdays or at least figuring something out so people don't go out there and wait around for no one!
