Thread Two | Thread Three

The date is May 28th-May29th

36 Teams
27 - must be at least 2 players from the region
9 - can be any number of out of region players

Saturday will be Swiss rounds in two tournament groups to determine seeding for Sunday
Sunday will be Double Elimination

Info for the weekend *READ CAREFULLY*

-Groupings for Saturday are here http://tinyurl.com/southeast2011 in the second tab labeled groupings for Saturday

-If you are in the morning group, be there before 10AM so you are ready at 10AM. Please be on time. If you are late enough that you miss the first round you will be given a loss. With 4 courts and 18 teams that should only be an hour at most. We'll have some Whynatte coffee/energy drink on hand for you morning bracket people.

-If you are in the afternoon group, be there before 2PM so you are ready at 2PM. Please be on time. If you are late enough that you miss the first round you will be given a loss. With 4 courts and 18 teams that should only be an hour at most.

-Your team needs to have matching color jerseys(preferably with numbers, but not required) and you also need a white shirt as an alternate in case your opponents have the same color.

-The Party Friday night will be at a bar called Hang fire. Here's a map http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=37+Whitaker+Street+Savannah,+GA+31401-3322+(912)+443-9956&aq=&sll=33.774357,-84.392302&sspn=0.017016,0.026157&ie=UTF8&hq=(912)+443-9956&hnear=37+Whitaker+St,+Savannah,+Georgia+31401&ll=32.084356,-81.088543&spn=0.01689,0.026157&z=16

-The island can be reached by car of Ferry. It's easier to drive since the ferry isn't as bike friendly as we'd like. If you're running late I'd recommend driving. When you get on the island from the bridge follow the road back to the front side of the island on Wayne shackleford rd. This will curve around the parking lot for the convention center. Take a left and cross the bridge on Grand prize of Americas BLVD. Take the first left after the tennis courts(this will also be grand prize of americas dr.), and then take the first right into the dirt lot and what looks like a maintenance yard. keep driving straight and eventually it will be paved. Once you get onto the paddock area we'll be at the far back. If you try to get in from the track you'll be dissapointed because all of the connections between the pit land and the track are barricaded, easy for bikes to hop, not so much for cars.

-Bring Water!!!!!!!

-We will have 2-3 sets of goals for sale after the tournament for cheap. If your club is interested, email me. We'd rather have them go to other cities than the dump.

-If any of you or your team members are interested in reffing email me. Refs get special prizes.

-Helmets required. Bring them!

-The Courts are abrasive(60 grit sandpaper or lower) Bring an extra tire and tube, it might be necessary. Also if you love your mallet like a child, use the stepchild version.

-The Courts are on a island and there is no power or running water on the speedway. We will have portalets and some water (2 bottles per person per day) but you will need to get more water since it will be hot. Bring bottles and fill them up before getting to the island.

-Again it will be HOT! And not just hot but Humid which means you will roast like a turkey(or Tucky). Keep this in mind while packing.

-We will have sunscreen on hand, but if you're really pale like me, Take care of yourself. I had a guy at a tournament I threw get sunstroke once and it was not a pretty picture.

-The state of GA doesn't allow alcohol sales on Sundays. If you want to drink beer on Sunday You gotta buy it on Saturday or Friday.

-If you have a tent/chairs/coolers bring them, you'll thank yourself.

Yes, it's official. SAV and ATL are hosting in SAV.

NAH tour regional qualifier?...must live in region to play and must place to qualify for NAs?

JakeATL wrote:

so, is this going to be in Atlanta or in Savannah?

I think you just answered your own question. The tournament is in Savannah. ATL is just helping host.

NAH is about to announce the format for registration for regional's this week. Out of region teams will be allowed but what quantity is as of yet unknown, and registration won't officially be open till that announcement.

We play polo in the ATL

Sorry for the delay. We're waiting on NAH to announce the registration format, and then we'll announce the day that registration will open, probably a week or so after the format is made public.

thanks, I see the format has been announced. will we register here or somewhere else?

Can I play if I am on a team from N.O. or are they in South Central? Want to come down to Savannah, I will be in N.O. during the tournament so it would be kick ass to come play?

I am vehemently against anyone outside of the south eastern region coming to our championship... And that goes to any other. i think that registration should be locked to 100percent regional teams. Who the fuck allowed teams from other regions to play in other regions... This is so fucking stupid. If your going to institute rules and hold official tourneys. Don't do a broke dick job of it.

Yo-
I also think teams from outside the region should NOT be able to play..
Id say FL, GA, SC, NC, VA, AL, TN, MS..
Where do LA and AR stand? Is in, South Central or what?

It's the system we have as of now Jared. It's only 25% out of region teams, so next year if you want to be a rep you can fight for no out of region teams.

Also Zac, the region only includes
FL, GA, SC, NC, AL, TN,

The rest are in SC or East Side.

We play polo in the ATL

I some what agree! but I have so many people cry about not letting people into the NA's who are not from NA! But at the same time the whole thing is just getting started, just role with it. Soon enough everything will be laid out and it will all be good. Until that time I have always wanted to go to Savannah, so if I am so close I am going to come if I can.

And its not a broke dick job, it is the beginning. When have you ever started something that was perfect on the first time?

I need a sugar momma so I can work less and play polo more!!

bring extra tires bros!!

So as an out side regional team we have to have one player who is from the region. So myself and Will Curry from New Orleans are looking for a SouthEastern player to team up with?? We will supply this possible team mate with 50 bucks or lots of beers? any takers, let me know please ASAP!!

I need a sugar momma so I can work less and play polo more!!

In response to bullshit like this... I am recommending all southeastern players just boycott anyone from playing with anyone outside our region.. Then the problem is solved and we'll be able to have our championship as a region only. Thanks mr. anderson for giving me that idea..

"ok Mr. Schwinn fucking Armstrong!"
www.burrobags.com

I don't think its fair or wise to alienate your fellow SE regional poloists by saying mixed region teams are worthy of boycott.

thanks jared for giving me the idea of playing with people from outside our region.

is someone scared? jared?

Fuck off

Where did you read that you need a southeastern player on your team to play in the tournament?

Regional Qualifier Registration:
• 75% of the available spots at each qualifier are reserved for teams with at least two players from the host region. The remaining spots (25%) are reserved for teams composed of 2 or more players from outside the region of the hosted tournament.

It is on the thread posted by Mike Phx about update for 2011 NA's tour. So if any one wants to play with a guy from Calgary and a guy from New Orleans we still will buy you $50 of beer also will make sure you get a good place to stay when you come to Calgary for the NA's!

If you are interested email calgarybikepolo@hotmail.ca

I need a sugar momma so I can work less and play polo more!!

I think the wording is confusing here, but I understood it to mean

of 75% Players A & B must be from inside the region, and C can either be from inside or outside of the region
of 25% Players A & B must be from outside the region, and C can either be from inside or outside of the region

mr anderson wrote:

One of us is misreading this. As I understand it you can have three players form outside the region.

Sounds right I think I have been reading to many thread and am now confused!! But yah I think you are right Stevenon.

that's how i read it too steven

Steven is right. You can have 3 players on your team from outside the host region.

are these going to be new courts? the location posted above says it's at the speedway, but it also says big ass courts. I'd like to vote for normal sized courts like the ones we played with at the speedway last year, and not giant rink-sized courts.

also, is this going to be a 3 day tournament, or is friday going to be pickup?

Well then, never mind we have three then!!

looking for a team! big mouth, even bigger bootay. get at me. the south will rise again.

so i heard from a couple savannah polo players that the speedway is not available anymore. the area is under development and nobody is allowed back there. where exactly is this being held in savannah? as far as I know those were their only courts w/ significant capacity.

in fact, we got in touch today with don, the sav club rep, and he had no idea this tournament was "officially" being held in his town. ummm so whats going on.

why didn't southeastern reps get a vote or even a friendly email about where and how OUR championship is being run? why are out-of-regioners allowed to qualify in OUR tournament. i agree with jared and think its a bunch of bullshit as well. it'll only encourage a bunch of B-players from up north or out west to come to this cus they can't wing it in their own region to try and qualify for NAs.

yeah.... it would have been nice for a call or email to inform us we would be hosting a tournament. as of this past weekend we lost acess to the pitlane. it is now a government development property and the ga ports authority will be granting no acees w/out permit. i went to the external affairs office today but was given the run around. we would love to host this but due to recent circumstances i dont see us being able to come up with something worth while for people to travel for.

When we decided on Savannah it was at least with Tuckers permission, since it was him I called and talked to. I assumed that more of the club would be informed either through Sean, Baby Sarah, Tucker, or Erica. I am very sorry that this wasn't more public to the locals. Your location is the best in the SE, and we were so psyched on using it for the biggest tourney that we may have forgotten to talk to everybody, and for that I am really sorry.

Don't despair about losing the location just yet. I plan to call the port authority tomorrow and see what can be done. If needs be we can change location but only in the worst case scenario.

We play polo in the ATL

What's to prevent "B-players" from SE going to a supposedly weaker region?

exactly. the problem goes both ways.

i plan on playing in both the lil rock SC champs and the apparently "TBA" SE champs. now it ain't likely, but i'd hate to qualify in both regions while some local team misses its chance at goin to NAs because i came to their turney and took their spot. This system rewards players who have the time and $$$ for traveling and trying to enter as many big tournaments as possible.

Im not sayin the regional qualifiers should ban all non-regional teams or players (especially if there is room), but why can't they be allowed to play with the knowledge they won't qualify for NAs unless they do it in their own region?

I'm gonna go to the SE tourney and qualify just to take away a spot from you whiners. any non-SE players want to team up? i sit in a cubicle most of the winter so ill be on top of registration.

i like that confidence.

Frazer is making perfect sense and he is not being "whiny". Its the fucking truth. Definition of regional is "of or relating to a particular region or district". Just change the name of the tournaments, calling them "regionals" is moot. Itd be nice if we can have all rebels and no fuckin psuedo cool kid jock yankees coming to try and show whose dick is bigger.
As for the tournament maybe not having courts.... Fort Lauderdale could maybe host? I wouldn't mind helping. I know its not central or anything but the weather is beautiful, beaches and bitches errrwhere.
the south will rise again.

sad storm trooper

Itd be nice if we can have all rebels...

Your anti-Imperial stance makes storm troopers cry.

You don't have to call it a regional, but who cares what it's called. In the SW, it's called Desert Invite 3. Originally the NAHBPC qualifiers weren't going to be region-based, there were only going to be 4 open qualifiers that were geographically dispersed, and guess what, it would have been REALLY hard to qualify, there was no guarantee of regional representation, and we could have seen the same top 12 teams at every tourney. When that was announced last year it's funny that none of these complaints were raised. Now there's a better system that does guarantee more regional representation and a couple people are freaking out.

If people in the specific collection of states that NAH has called "Southeast" want to organize a "Southeast regional", and you have to, say, have a brown bike to play in it, that's fine, i might even come cause i have a wicked brown bike you should really check it out. If you want to exclude people from that collection of states, that's fine too, i won't come. But it won't help anyone qualify to NAHBPC.

Canada will rise again, too! oh wait we never really rose up. Except for Quebec. But even they sold out.

well put Kev, well put

Well said!!

I need a sugar momma so I can work less and play polo more!!

the current system is an improvement over the original plan i agree, but what is the logic behind having these "2/3" regional players versus "3/3" regional players for the championships? i can't think of another national organized sport that allows this leeway.

and i'm sure nobody from the south wants to discourage trevor or joe or whoever from playing in the SE champs if there is room, but why are they allowed to qualify for NAs outside their own region?

i just feel this system is biased towards the folks who have the time and means to travel to alot of big qualifiers versus the guys and gals who might only be able to just make their own regional championship.

You might want to read the other thread where the rationale has been explained at length, basically the idea was to balance two goals of
a) having the best players/teams (which the old plan would have accomplished) and
b) having regional representation

Kev's suggestion is a good one, this will help explain a bit.

It's fine to take cues from other sports; polo has done this all along. But every once and awhile circumstances arise that require us to try something unconventional. And even this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Hardcourt is early in development. One of the benefits of calculated experimentation is that it ultimately creates the unique form of the game; a time-honored, refined sport we might use as a template once had it's own period of trying new organizational features that are now regarded as "standards."

Right now, the state of hardcourt suggests that a 75/25 compromise (which, keep in mind, may never happen again) is the right choice. We're just trying to affect the best compromise on our way to even more refinements. Just as this year has seen improvements, next year will see them as well. This is a process. As long as everyone understands this, we'll move through the development of this system in a more relaxed manner.

frazer wrote:

I'm not sold on your belief that players will buy their way in. Still need to finish top 8 no matter what. Also, is it unsafe to assume that those who "have the time and means to travel alot" tend to be the best players?

if they can't wing it in their own region, then why would they make it in yours? Are you saying you're all just a bunch of B-players down south?

Invalid response. Try again later..

Sorry Frazer I disagree, Starting to hear so much whinny crap coming from this thread I don't think I want to come even if they get it going now. I would just rather come down some time and just get to see the city which I have wanted to see for many years and skip polo and everything altogether! I think I will Just stay in N.O. and enjoy my trip.

Anyone want to team up and try and register? I'm out of region.

Registration will open 2 weeks from today at midnight EST. As said before, in region teams must at least be 2 in region players. Space for 48 teams will be allowed. 12 out of region, 36 in region. more info as registration approaches.

what happens if a team registers and then can't come? Can they sell their spots?

hahahahahaha....

In reality I would put it up for grabs and hope somebody comes. if you made money, I would want half.

Any word on where this is actually going to be held? Savannah? ATL? South Florida? The place with the most backwoods moonshine distilleries?

Savannah if your club is willing you still have a better location to look into with a roller hockey rink on a fucking "ISLAND"!

ask the city to play at Lake Mayer Park! ask permission to use two of the tennis courts nearest the rink and the rink also! 3 COURTS! bring up the ft myers tournament if you need a reference for tennis court usage for polo tournament.

lake mayer isnt on an island. tennis courts are a no go been through that befor with them. so that still leaves one court.

there is an airplane hanger where the derby girls do scrimage games. working on getting in contact with them. can house three courts and its sheltered from the seasons. fully lit and smooth surfaces just need to build courts.

coool yea i put "island" in quotations for a reason. silly land bridge. hope the hanger comes thru!

Frazer isn't even SE. He was living in New Orleans up until fairly recently. I'm pretty sure you have to be in a region for a year to be considered a 'resident.'

He can't be a resident of New Orleans then because he only lived there for a few months in 2010. Before that, he lived in Mobile for over a year and has since moved back. Mobile is a SE region.

Figure out your team and then we can see. If you're going to play with two people from down here it won't matter, and if you're playing with two people from up there it won't matter. If you can't get your team together before registration email me and we can talk.

It's going to be great to have a nationals qualifier tournament within one day driving distance. there are a ton of players in the Southeast (there were almost 20 Florida teams at All Florida 3 this year!), and it'll be great to see them all in one place! There are some really good teams from around the region, and I for one am excited to watch them give whoever shows up from other regions a hard time (on the courts). wherever this happens, hopefully we'll have enough spots to not turn anyone (especially southeast teams!) away.
I nominate tony and K to run brackets. I'm willing to ref some.
JakeATL - what are the big rule changes for this tournament?

We'll be using the NAH rules and hopefully using the new software to run brackets.

The Opening of Registration will be postponed until a location can be found. This is not by Choice, our previous location has become too expensive for us to use ($1300 just to use the court) and registering for something without a date or place makes no sense. I apologize for the frustration, but sleep has been lost on both ends here.

i think the only city in florida that could host this would be ftl... what do you think ftl?!

FMBP

FTL has good courts, but they are at the very end of the region. I vote for gainesville, who also has hockey courts (i think?).
Tallahassee could do it, but Jake/somebody would need to talk to the civic center or parks and rec about renting pavement/courts.

An update concerning the date and location will be posted tonight by JAKEATL.
Let the side bets commence.

due to people trying to buy flights why dont you bump registration to the 18th?

140x65

flights at this time of year (end of april/beginning of May) generally won't increase in price until two or three weeks out.

Is 9 weeks not enough lead time for you? Does 10 weeks make the cost go down that much more? NAH require 2 weeks notice before registration opens. That's what DPI and SC had to do, and unless you tell me that it's a huge monetary difference between 9 and 10 weeks before I don't think it matters enough.

We play polo in the ATL

It's a huge monetary difference.

You done been told.

The above is not sarcastic. I seriously want to know what the cost difference is between 9 weeks lead time and 10 weeks lead time for flights.

We play polo in the ATL

9 to 10 weeks probably won't make a difference, but with airfare, it changes constantly, and generally, the earlier the better. But not always. Sometimes. Depends. On lots of things.

has the location for this thing been announced yet? it's not still at the track is it, that would be a bummer.

Hey errbody! I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. THE OFFICIAL DATE OF THE TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN MOVED TO MAY 28th-29th. This is the final date and it WILL NOT CHANGE AGAIN! We had some scheduling and facility conflicts down here in Savannah, but those have been taken care of. Right now we are working on securing Lake Mayer as the site of the tourney. It has room for two regular sized courts, plus a regulation roller hockey rink. The surfaces are also much more forgiving than at the track. Registration will be capped at 32 teams, so sign up early. We will let you know what the registration fee will be as soon as we hear back from the powers that be regarding the site of the tournament. Let me know if y'all got any questions.

This means only 8 out-of-town teams!!!!! Jesus. Three courts with the light in May/June. Keep it at 48. Fawk.

Okay catfish, I'm going to move my mouth like this...

32 teams???!!? You're joking right? NAH please confirm that this cannot happen. Slots are filling up in 8 seconds and you're talking about going from 48 to 32 teams? Im callin bullshit

Yeah, I know it sucks for out of region teams, but this is our first real tournament, and we decided that it would be better to start small. Our facilities are untested, and we aren't sure if they can even handle that many teams. If things go well, we will bump up the registration next time. If you are going to travel from out of region, wouldn't you rather have a well organized, smoothly run tournament? It would be a shame to travel all that way and end up headlong in a huge shit pile of a tournament. Like I said, yes it sucks, but the out of region teams that do come are going to enjoy a great tournament. Hopefully next tournament we will have more spots.

My apologies for sounding outraged but...

This is an NAH qualifier. If your rationale for not bumping up the team-count is that this is your first tournament, why are you holding a qualifier? Give me a call and I'll help you throw a kick ass tournament of 48 teams on three courts. It IS possible. And - here's the kicker - it ain't rocket science. With the amount of daylight you have and the flexibility of utilizing efficient software there is no reason you couldn't pull this off. Seriously, get in touch with me.

For-ty eight! For-ty eight! For-ty eight! Con-ti-nen-tal! Con-ti-nen-tal! Con-ti-nen-tal!

Will the registration date still be friday at midnight?

Phoenix did three courts, 36 teams, with less daylight, with success, but was very organized.

yes

I'm excited to play more with outofregion teams, but it'd be weird to me if we couldn't bring all the teams from tallahassee.

How many teams are you planning on bringing?

Step down from running this tournament please. It has been a total mess already and 32 teams is a slap in the face

MIND YOUR OWN FUCKING BUSINESS YOU ARE NOT AN ORGANIZER OR HELPING AT ALL. THIS TOURNAMENT IS STILL MONTHS AWAY. IF THEY DECIDE ITS 32 ITS 32. YOU HAVING AN INTERNET HISSY FIT BECAUSE YOU MIGHT NOT GET YOUR WAY IS PATHETIC. IF YOURE WORRIED ABOUT NOT GETTING A SPOT THEN MAN THE FUCK UP AND REGISTER ON TIME. THE MESS HAS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH TUCKER OR HIS ORGANIZING. THE DECISION WAS MADE FOR THE TOURNAMENT THAT IS TAKING PLACE IN SAVANNAH TO BE RUN BY SAVANNAH, MAKES SENSE RIGHT? GROW UP AND SHUT UP.

When savanna throws The Butt Darts Open they can pick out the number of teams they want to host. When hosting an NAH qualifier you have a lot of people depending on getting it all together to get everyone there. Maybe you wouldn't have been so pissed if I had taken The Falcon's approach to voice my concern but I'm pretty sure a 10 line all caps run on is a hissy fit too.

haha BUTT DART OPEN!!! in case you haven't heard of that game here are the rules....1) regatta666 you lay on your stomach with your butt in the air, naked of course. 2) the rest of whoever is throwing this tournament lines up(nice and orderly here folks, Jared your first) then jump off a small step ladder and try to land with your boner in his butthole. 3) first one to get it all the way in wins

it kind of is his business and it kind of has been a mess and part of that APPEARS to be bc an outside city-your outside city-was hosting, what is one of the top ten biggest tournaments of the year without the full knowledge of the savannah club. and now all of a sudden that burden is falling to Savannah?

'man the fuck up and register on time' dude, when registration comes down to how fast your internet connection is there's not a lot you can do.

there are ample people here saying you can run a 48 team tournament, you have the courts, you have the lights and you have people willing to help. people can stay in hotels. what do your other two representatives say? amanda and ryan? maybe another city can host this, but savannah can make 48 teams happen.

Let me clarify:

Atlanta as a city was not hosting this. Jake one SE regional reps. put this together and chose Savannah because of its availability of courts and location.
Having lived and played in savannah I can fully vouch for and will vouch for Tuckers ability.

Thats up to the person in charge, Tucker. By the rules of the NAH there only has to be atleast 32, and not every tournament will have 48 spaces. As for the other reps no one has heard for them.

Again, I will preface this response. Let's be a little diplomatic.

Me calling for 48 teams is a reasonable request even though this isn't MY tournament. Shit, this ain't even SAVANNAH'S tournament. This is an NAH sanctioned qualifier. The tournament is of interest to all of us. Regatta666, when you tell people to "MIND [THEIR] OWN FUCKING BUSINESS" YOU are the one who is not "HELPING AT ALL." "GROW UP" (heed your own advice) and "SHUT UP" (not productive at all) make me feel like you might be threatened of "outsiders" coming to your neck of the woods to play some polo. What are you so defensive about? Let's have a game of polo. Why not eh? How about polo? Oh, and I also offered to help. Don't be too proud. Y'all have never done anything like this. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. I'm here to help if you change your mind.

Okay catfish, I'm going to move my mouth like this...

One of the reason's that NAH was created was to spread out tournaments more. This means that we will have midwests and southeasterns back to back. Also, if you have the courts then you should do 48 teams. Podium software was created too help with the scheduling. There will be plenty of support from NAH to help this tournament run as a functional NAH tournament it shouldn't be treated as any thing other then that.

^This. Lexington had 48+ teams on three courts in two days for the November Midwests Open and (with the help of the software and some volunteers) they made it look easy. They had lights, but you'll have a pretty long day in Savannah in April/May, the same Swiss rounds software, and people to help you run it.

Check your dates man, this shit changed again; now on Memorial Day weekend. We're almost to summer solstice

I know, I was also agreeing with Jonny that they should move it back to April 30-May 1. May 28-29 is the week after the Bloomington Midwests. Also, the SE has the weather an daylight to have a qualifier earlier in the season versus Midwest, East, North.

any idea what software they were running, i'd like to check it out.

NA Hardcourt is working with Vince to provide this for all NAHBPC qualifying tourneys.

http://podium.binaryseed.net/

im havin trouble running it, any tips?

Also, COMO threw a 46 team tournament successfully with just two courts in November (one of which was lit). They also used Vince's software which made it's debut at this tourney. I don't see you guys having a problem hosting a 3 court, 48 team tournament with Vince's software. Just do it! That's my two cents anyway...

Midwest is best!!

also cascadia may 21, 22 suckas

If a tournament of 48 teams qualifies 8 teams than a tournament of 32 qualifies 5

x2 there is no reason a tournament allowing 16 less teams in should be allowed to qualify the same number as other qualifiers

I am okay with this, im gonna talk with league and we can come to a resolution on this one

I talked to league, and the number of automatic births is going to stay at 8.

Hey reps that bullshit! your going to allow 8 qualifiying spots for a a tournament that has 16 less available spots! it seems like the way to get more of your regional teams into the NAHC is to lessen the amount of available spots but still qaulify the same amount..found a loop hole eh? and from the SE? WTF!

is this the lake meyer you speak of?

yup

Ya there's a drawbridge and crocodiles for anyone from outside of the SE region.

Looks like a wicked spot for a tourney!

it should be a good one, there is a covered pavilion for shade, plenty of bathrooms, grocery store a few blocks away, and its close to the cheaper hotels in town(all the hotels in the historic district are mad expensive).

from the na hardcourt 2011 tour thread:

Quote:

one day of Swiss rounds with at least 32 teams

i know everyone from tough regions wants to travel to less competitive regions, ie south central and south east, to guarantee your qualification, but the rules were set up by the north american governing body and it is each region's duty to follow those rules, which they have/are. south west allowed 32 teams, south central 36, so no one should be throwing a fit now that south east is capping at 32. i have been to tournaments in atlanta and savannah and i know these guys are competent, so the implication that they are not is insulting to the organizers and their region. i hope to make it in this tournament as an out of region player, but if i don't, no skin off my dick.

brian, you're part of a world champion team. why are you acting like this would be your only chance to qualify? anyone who has a problem with the current rules and format should bring it up to their regional reps when the time comes to make changes for next year.

good on the people offering constructive comments.

Dude man. You know me. I wouldn't shit on someone doing their best to pull something off. That's why I am offering help if a city doesn't feel like they could pull off something that could have the potential to be greater than what it currently appears to be. It is a qualifier and I think every effort should be made to up the number of teams. I (out of city, state, and country) am willing to do what I can to help the organizers (should they want it) throw an awesome tournament for more people. Simple as that.

Okay catfish, I'm going to move my mouth like this...

Shouldn't this be coming from Tucker as the organizer, not from someone that has seemingly no ties to the Southeast Region or this tournament? why make this change the day before registration? isn't it a little late for "testing" a registration system when the series has already started and already half way complete as far as registration is concerned? This seems like it needs to wait. And whoever changed the tournament info got the team count wrong, it's 32 total teams, 24 in-region, 8 out of region.
